Boomkat is an electronic/dance/Hip-Hop/pop music duo from Falls Church, Virginia. The duo is comprised of brother and sister, Kellin and Taryn Manning. BoomKat released their debut album “Boomkatalog One” in 2003 to positive responses, and a #1 hit single, "The Wreckoning"on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts. The band's second album, “A Million Trillion Stars” was released in 2009.

The Manning children were born to musical parents, so inevitably one of the siblings would master a instrument. Kellin played drums from an early age and spent his teenage years in and out of rock bands, while his sister, Taryn, studied dance, fashion and dreamed of making it big in Hollywood. After dropping out of college Kellin followed Taryn to California and convinced her to sing and make music with him while she search for acting jobs. When Taryn's acting career took off she was in a position to give demos to influential people.

The duo first signed a major label deal with American Idol producer Randy Jackson, but the deal fell. However, DreamWorks were waiting in the wings to pick-up where Jackson left off, and release the band's debut album. 2007 saw the band sign to Little Vanilla Records (owned by Taryn Manning), who released BoomKat’s second album, “A Million Trillion Stars” (2009). Boomkat toured in 2008 and 2009 to promote their new album and gained a wider audience when the single, "Burn" was featured on MTV's reality television show, The Hills on October 27, 2009. In September 2009, Taryn Manning released her first solo single, "So Talented" and announced a month later that Boomkat is working on their third album.
