Birth Place: Frankfurt, Germany

Booka Shade is a house/electronica music duo that hails from Germany. The duo consists of Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, who have released four albums. The duo got their start as a synth-pop duo but has transitioned their music over the years to more of a “club music” feel. The duo's debut album, “Memento” arrived in 2004 and was met with positive responses from the German press and their growing fan base. The duo founded their own record label, Get Physical Records, with DJ T. and M.A.N.D.Y. and continue to release their own material and sign new emerging acts. Booka Shade's 2005 singles: “Mandarine Girl” and “Body Language” became massive dance club hits all over Europe. 2006 saw the duo's second offering, “Movements,” followed by a feature on England's BBC Radio 1's “Essential Mix” Show. The duo's song “Body Language” has been used as a sample by will.i.am in the song “Get Your Money” from his album, “Songs About Girls.”

The duo's music has also been featured in the Forza video game for Xbox 360. Booka Shade's third studio album, “The Sun & the Neon Light” appeared in 2008, followed by “More!” in 2010. The duo continues to work on new music.
