Former U.S. President Bill Clinton tried to get Led Zeppelin to reunite for the first time since 2007 for last year's Hurricane Sandy benefit in New York City.

Clinton tried to convince Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones while they were in Washington D.C. last December for the Kennedy Center Honors.

Davide Saltzman, director of the Robin Hood foundation, which organized the 12-12-12 concert at Madison Square Garden, told news show "60 Minutes" Sunday night that he and movie producer Harvey Weinstein put Clinton up to the task.

"There were two bands that we were trying desperate...

Jimmy Page
Rocker Jimmy Page has reiterated there are no plans for Led Zeppelin to reunite onstage even though the bandmates have come together to promote the concert movie release of their one-off concert five years ago.

Page and bandmates John Paul Jones and Robert Plant have been routinely asked about another reunion ever since the Ahmet Ertegun tribute show in London - and just when the fuss was dying down, the trio announced plans to release the concert footage as new movie "Celebration Day."

Reteaming for a press conference in London last month, the bandmates seemed a little irked that the reu...

John Bonham Once Threatened To Beat Up Sting

January 20th, 2011 7:27pm EST
Sting
Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham once threatened to beat Sting up backstage at a Police concert.

The late rocker took his son Jason to the show and then arranged for him to meet his idol - but the encounter almost turned violent after the drummer accidentally stepped on Sting's foot.

Jason Bonham tells Spinner.com, "I thought Sting was the coolest thing in the world.

"He (dad) managed to get me backstage and he threatened to punch Sting. It was hilarious. Dad stepped on his foot and he (Sting) was very cocky back then. He was the new young frontman and had that punk kind of attitude. Dad...

Collateral Damage From Robert Plant's Decision To Nix Zep Reunion

December 25th, 2008 5:00pm EST
Led Zeppelin
Since the surviving members of Led Zeppelin reformed last December for a one-off show to pay tribute to late Atlantic Records founder and legend Ahmet Ertegun, the man who discovered and brought us some of the most talented artists of all-time (seriously, we really could use another Ahmet right about now-- but since the almighty dollar overshadows the need for actual talent we can forget that) and gave a handful of folks in England the greatest holiday gift ever, there has been a weekly story about the band going on tour. And not going on tour. But wanting to tour. And not wanting to tour. ...

Tis The Season For... Things We Love (To Hate!)

December 24th, 2008 5:45pm EST
Pearl Harbor
With the holiday season upon us in full force, we thought it would be totally inappropriate if we came up with this list of things in the entertainment world that totally annoy us, repulse us, bother us, and that we just plain can't stand. Yeah, "hate" is a really strong word so we aren't going to use that any further than just hyperbole for our headline here.

But seriously, we get tired of hearing about the celebs, despise these films and cannot stand either the music or image of the bands and musicians listed below. Be sure to add your comments at let us know who you can't stand at ...

Robert Plant
Reports out of Great Britain are now saying that a full-fledged Led Zeppelin reunion is moving forward; and lead singer Robert Plant, who originally held out from any involvement with his former bandmates, has had a change of heart.

British newspaper The Sun reports that guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham (son of Zep's late great skinsman John) have been rehearsing with singers to fill the void left by Plant, who would not commit to the trio's reunion plans.

News that an as yet unnamed famous American singer had been standing in for Plant ...

Five Must-See Concerts Before You Die

July 14th, 2008 10:09am EDT
Led Zeppelin
Picture this scenario: you're on your deathbed, all of your finances are in order and amends have been made in every single one of your personal relationships. Something is wrong though; something keeps persistently gnawing at your emotions of regret until you realize that, as a fan of Rock and Roll, there were too many missed opportunities throughout your life. Too many nights, watching concerts from the latest fad, instead of seeing the true greats of arena history. If only you could go back in time, perhaps forgo that night wasted on The Spin Doctors and trade that experience for a night...
