Bobby Goldsboro was born in Marianna, Florida in 1941 and is pop and country singer and songwriter. After graduating high school in 1959 he enrolled at Auburn University. Goldsboro left college after his second year to pursue a musical career. He played guitar for Roy Orbison from 1962 to 1964. 1964 saw Goldsboro rise to fame with the hit, “See the Funny Little Clown,” which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart. His 1969 single, “Honey,” was Goldsboro’s biggest hit, peaking at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart for five weeks and reaching #1 on the U.K. Singles chart.
