Otep have just started their U.S. tour dates in support of the just released third album The Ascension. The band enlisted producer Dave Fortman (Mudvayne, Evanescence) for the record and also called on Grammy nominated guitarist Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne, Hellyeah) to co-write three songs.

In conjunction with the kick-off of this year's Taste of Chaos Tour, WARCON Enterprises has announced a January 24th release date for The Best of the Taste of Chaos, a two-disc compilation that features an onslaught of music from the biggest and best bands in the punk/metal scene.

More than 80 eclectic songs from NYC raised or transplanted bands that span such diverse genres as punk, hip hop, hardcore and rock bring true East Coast flavor to Activision, Inc.’s highly anticipated True Crime: New York City video game. The in-game soundtrack features licensed tracks from some of the biggest names in music from Bob Dylan, The Ramones and Blondie to Run DMC, Public Enemy and DMX, as well as new music from Redman, including “Rush The Security” from his upcoming album Red Gone Wild and two original tracks written for the game. True Crime: New York City, set to hit store shelves on November 16, also features an in-game customizable play list option that allows gamers to order the music based on their personal taste.

The ever-growing, ever-raging Jagermeister Music Tour is set to charge this fall. This time out, Disturbed leads the assault. Corrosion of Conformity serves as direct support on the first leg of the Tour and Bloodsimple will do the honors on the second leg. Each night a Jagermeister-sponsored band will open the show.
