Harry says, "It's out of proportion, but it's nice to be recognized. It's outstanding, really... I also find it particularly interesting that there aren't many Americans who've been given this award before, so that's flattering."

NME editor Mike Williams said: "They rewrote the rulebook in the late 70s by dragging punk rock t...

Blondie members Debbie Harry and Chris Stein have paid tribute to the late Lou Reed, who died on Sunday at the age of 71. The punk legends have recalled thrilling moments with the former Velvet Underground frontman in statements released on Monday.

Harry remembers, "The first time I saw the Velvet Underground with Lou Reed it was in the 1960s at a place on the Lower East Side (of New York) called The Balloon Farm. That day I became a lifelong devotee of the iconoclastic sound and style of Lou and the Velvets.

"I'm so sad that he's gone but his hypnotic voice telling a story of a Perfect D...

Overrated & Underrated Pop Duets

Sometimes one just ain't enough.

That's a line, okay an amended line, from the rarest of rock treats - the duet. Everyone loves when two pop icons team up for a single. It's just like those rare occasions when two solo wrestlers join forces for a super tag-team.

Just like its brethren in the WWE the results for pop duets are often much less than the sum of their parts. Still, each duet holds a special spot, or two, in the minds of music fans.

So it's easy to say that all duets are overrated isn't it? Well, that would be the case if it weren't for the fact that so many gr...
