Starpulse: So you've been drumming with Snow Patrol for nearly 15 years…why do you think it is that drummers are the "unsung heroes" of bands? You're the backbone of the band!

Eric Clapton has ruled out another Cream reunion, insisting the members of the rock super-trio have parted ways amicably.

The guitar great re-teamed with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce for shows in London and New York in 2005 and fans have been hoping for another get-together ever since - but that isn't going to happen. Clapton says, "I think I was clear that I don't think we need to go there again... I think we've gone as far as we could with that."

Californian sculptor Robert Graham, the husband of Oscar-winning actress Anjelica Huston, has died aged 70. Veteran rocker Steve Winwood is set to release a new LP - his first studio album in five years.

The 59-year-old Brit is performing three highly-anticipated concerts with his former Blind Faith bandmate Eric Clapton in New York this week, and he's recruited the Layla star to play guitar on the disc's first single Dirty City. Nine Lives, Winwood's first recording with Columbia Records, is slated for release later this spring.

Winwood will then tour in the summer as an opening act for Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers.

Eric Clapton and his former Blind Faith band mate Steve Winwood are reforming to play three shows together next year. The live performances - which follow an impromptu reunion between the pair at a U.S. music festival last July - will take place at Madison Square Garden, New York from February 25th to 27th.

Clapton, who released one album with Winwood as Blind Faith back in 1969, says, "Our set at the Crossroads Festival this summer was a real treat, so I expect these shows will be good fun for us and for the fans."

Blues star Buddy Guy halted his headlining Crossroads Festival slot in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday to pay tribute to the event's organizer - Eric Clapton.

Guy ended an 11-hour show at Toyota Park, where 28,000 music fans caught performances by Clapton, Guy, B.B. King, John Mayer and Jeff Beck, among other guitar greats.

And Guy summed up the occasion when he paid tribute to Clapton, stating, "What a wonderful job this man has done. If we had more people in this world like him, it would be a better place."

Eric Clapton left rock fans stunned at England's Countryside Rocks festival on Saturday when he joined former Blind Faith bandmate Steve Winwood onstage for a classic jam. Festival-goers' jaws dropped when Clapton wandered onto the stage towards the end of Winwood's headlining set and performed a handful of Blind Faith and Cream hits with the former Traffic star.

Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood are planning a semi-Blind Faith reunion at the guitar great's second Crossroads Festival in July. Clapton admits he invited Winwood to join him for the Illinois festival because he has "unfinished business" with the Traffic star.
