James Blake is a British electronic composer from London, England.

Blake began his music career by releasing his debut 12" vinyl EP, entitled "Air and Lack Thereof" in the United Kingdom during July 2009. A second Vinyl-exclusive RP, entitled "CMYK" was released through R&S Records during 2010.

Blake's version of "Limit to Your Love," recorded by singer Feist and appearing on her studio album, “The Reminder,” was released in the UK in November 2010, where it debuted on the UK Singles Chart at #47.

His self-titled debut album was released in February 2011. The release was preceded by the release of its first single, "Limit to Your Love," in November 2010. The second single, "Wilhelm's Scream," followed in January 2011. In the US the album went to #4 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and debuted at #123 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. In the UK the album went to #9 on the UK Albums chart.
