Black Kids is an indie pop group that hails from Jacksonville, Florida, and came together in 2006. The band began with siblings, Reggie Youngblood on vocals and guitar and Ali Youngblood on keyboards and backing vocals with the rest of the lineup including Owen Holmes on bass, Kevin Snow on drums, and Dawn Watley on keyboards and backing vocals.

The group released their debut EP, “Wizard of Ahhhs,” in 2007, which was followed by their debut full-length, “Partie Traumatic,” which debuted at #5 on the U.K. Albums chart in 2008. The album produced the singles: “I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You” which peaked at #23 on the U.K. Singles chart and “Hurricane Jane” which peaked at #36 on the U.K. Album chart. Shortly thereafter the band signed with Columbia Records.

2009 saw Black Kids performing at the Big Day Out festivals in New Zealand and Australia, while their song, “I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You,” was featured in a trailer for the film “Fame” and on the soundtrack of the film “Jennifer's Body.”
