57th Annual Grammy Awards: Predicting 10 Of The Most Coveted Awa
Victory, defeat, triumph, breakout, and upsets are some words that can be used to describe the Grammys. Like every awards show, there are winners and then there are losers who probably should have been winners. It goes with the territory, no matter how fortunate or unfortunate it is. The Grammys can be likened as a Super Bowl for musicians, even if being decorated in Grammys isn’t a necessity to cement musicianship or solidify artistic legacy – look at those who historically were never nominated or victorious. Still, writing off music’s most prestigious award is ludicrous in itself. Po...

13 Songs With ‘Only’ In The Title (Volume 1)
Ah the beauty of ‘only’ songs – those classics that feature one pivotal word within their title. What word is it that is pivotal you ask? Well, that word is what one suspects – ONLY! Think about it, how many songs feature the ubiquitous, inescapable adjective, adverb, or conjunction? The answer is a lot. One list can’t house so many ‘only’ songs. That said the 13-featured songs of ‘Songs With ‘Only’ In The Title (Volume 1),’ is a starting place. After such a wacky, melodramatic intro, here are the ‘only’ songs in all their ‘only’ glory!

1) Sam Smith, “I’m Not The Only One” (In The Lonely...

However, Carney is still not healed, forcing the band to axe their tour. The Black Keys said in a statement: "We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming pe...

10 Rocking Rock Songs of 2014
Sometimes, you just need to totally ‘rock’ out – right on, right on. Sometimes it’s all about busting out the air guitar or pretending you’re banging away on the drums like Animal from The Muppets. Well… maybe not the Animal thing – that’s a bit much. But in the spirit of rock n roll, with a little help from the alternative side of things as well, here are 10 rocking rock songs from 2014.

No, not all of them are manic, exhilarating up-tempo joints (yep, we’re talking to you Bruce Springsteen, The Black Keys, and Counting Crows), but all 10 songs are special and worth spinning. Here go...

30 Best Songs Of 2014 (So Far)
2014 has delivered a wealth of exceptional new songs. Some songs truly captivate with their songwriting, while others are ‘records’ which standout because of their sound. Choosing only 30 songs out of a sea filed with truly terrific songs is difficult; this list provides 30 of the best songs from January through June 2014.

1) Sam Smith, "Stay With Me"

from In the Lonely Hour

Maybe he’s ‘too emotional’ and 'sucks at one-night stands' as he sings, but Sam Smith can definitely sing – that’s the understatement of the year. The soaring, highly relatable “Stay With Me” exemplifies Smith’...

Review: The Black Keys ‘Turn Blue’ Channels Devastating Divorce

5/19/2014 1:45pm EDT
Black Keys Turn Blue
Divorce typically carries a negative connotation; it’s a heart-wrenching experience for both parties involved. Turning the horrid experience that is a divorce into an album certainly can be as therapeutic as a diary – it is a way to release the pain. Indie-rockers The Black Keys channel the topic of love gone wrong via divorce on their latest LP, Turn Blue, the follow-up to 2011 hit LP El Camino. Turn Blue is a very different album from El Camino, possessing a much darker, often pessimistic vibe. Genuinely upbeat, up-tempo tracks like “Howling For You” and “Lonely Boy” are hard to find with...

The Black Keys And Michael Jackson Expected To Top Charts Next Week

5/16/2014 12:15pm EDT
The Black Keys
Unsurprising, two familiar savvy chart performers – The Black Keys and Michael Jackson – are expected to reside in the top two spots on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. I predicted this before reading the official predictions from Billboard – go me! Previously, I wrote that likely these two power releases would help to infuse some more life into the music industry. Well, only to a certain extent… this is where my sharpness sort of fell off… Currently (according to, The Black Keys are being prognosticated around 150,000 copies (Turn Blue) while Michael Jackson is being progn...

Black Keys’ Patrick Carney Bashes Michael Jackson's New Album

5/14/2014 3:03pm EDT
Patrick Carney Of The Black Keys
The Black Keys' Patrick Carney does not hold back when he's hating on something. Now he's letting people know what he thinks of Michael Jackson's posthumous album, Xscape.

Carney told Rolling Stone, "[It's] some f---ing bulls--- that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable... Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released.” He went on to say the album was made because "L.A. Reid needed a new boat."

Carney is most likely not too worried about backlash for his words; in 2013 he infamously threw shade at Justin Bieber at the Grammys after ...

2/18/2013 10:07am EST
Black Keys
Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney exacted his own brad of revenge over the weekend - by taking on Justin Bieber fans as a caricature of the pop singer.

After Bieber suggested on the social website that Carney needed a "slap" for his comments on Bieber not being nominated for any Grammys, the drummer changed his display name on Twitter to "Justin Bieber" and began to chat with fans.

Fans of Bieber immediately attacked the account with messages such as "What the f--- is wrong with you," to which Carney replied in perfect Bieberish: "A lot. u r perfect though. true swag boss."

Does This Pizza Hut Commercial Sound Like The Black Keys? You Decide

6/25/2012 5:11pm EDT
The Black Keys
A few days ago we reported that The Black Keys were suing Pizza Hut and Home Depot for having commercials with music sounds a lot like some of their hits. Well, a YouTube user tracked down the Pizza Hut commercial in question. Watch below:

It's pretty generic, but there is no question it shares a similar sound to the Black Keys' Gold on the Ceiling. There is even a slightly distorted singer at the end, a key component of the group's sound.

Compare it to the actual song below, and let us know in the comments if the Black Keys' lawsuit has any merit:

Songwriter Danger Mouse, who produced the two tracks on The Black Keys' acclaimed El Camino album, is also named as a plaintiff in the legal papers, which were filed in Los...
