Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am has blasted rumors alleging singer Fergie is quitting the group.

The hitmakers have been plagued by claims they are on the verge of a split after announcing in July that they are set to take a hiatus following the completion of their recent world tour.

Frontman will.i.am was forced to speak out to silence the reports last month and now the rapper has addressed the latest allegations on his Twitter - and he's taking aim at TV talk show host Wendy Williams for spreading the false news.

The Black Eyed Peas have won a long running legal battle over their hit track Boom Boom Pow.

The band was issued with a lawsuit last year from musician Phoenix Phenom, who alleged the 2009 track used parts of her song Boom Dynamite, which she claims to have submitted to the Black Eyed Peas' Interscope Records label.

Phenom - real name Ebony Latrice Batts - and her associate Manfred Mohr filed suit, accusing the group of copyright infringement, and the case went to court in California last week.

Orrin Lynn Tolliver, Jr. recorded his track "I Need A Freak" at his former collaborator James McCants' studio in the 1980s.
