'American Idol' Recap: Was This The Most Boring Finale Ever?
The most boring finalists ever. That seemed to be the conventional wisdom going into the evening. That, despite a strong start, this season of ‘Idol’ was destined to fall into oblivion with two dull finalists that wouldn’t be able to deliver the finale this Renaissance season deserved.
Yes, that might be true. It may have been more interesting to see James square off against Pia or Jacob take on Haley, but that doesn’t necessarily mean this is the most boring collection of contestants ever, does it?
Here’s a ranking of finale pairings from least boring to most boring:

A New Judge Will Invigorate 'American Idol'
A new seat has been added to the American Idol judges' table, and it belongs to Kara DioGuardi, Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer.
The famous trio that every "Idol" contestant boldly faces (Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell) will turn into a foursome. So why add another judge? No other than to start a fresh new perspective and balance to the long-running Fox television phenomenon.
Kara is just the addition the show needs to attract a younger audience. According to the show's creative and executive producer Simon Fuller, "She will bring a new level of energy and...

Dreadlocked Jason Castro Sent Packing On 'American Idol'
After several weeks of theatrical and soulful themes, this week's round of performances on "American Idol" arrived like a breath of fresh air. Heading into Tuesday night's show, I was hoping for an upbeat night and that is exactly what I got. It was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame night. If only Michael Johns could have been there, I thought. But nonetheless, each performer brought something exciting and unique to the stage.

'American Idol' Undergoes 'Post-Parton' Depression; Farewell To Ramiele Malubay
The nine remaining contestants on "American Idol" Tuesday night welcomed talented country singer and songwriter Dolly Parton to the stage. Though a household name to many, the contestants seemed to find it difficult to fully connect with a song. Maybe it was the county theme that tripped up many, or maybe it was that Dolly Parton's songs are not among the most familiar to today's generation. Even the judges, particularly Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell, fell victim to the twang and giddiness of the country selections, criticizing nearly every performer who took to the stage. Whatever the r...
