Berlin is a new wave/synthpop band that was formed in Los Angeles in 1978 by John Crawford on bass, Terri Nunn on vocals, David Diamond on keyboards, Ric Olsen on guitar, Matt Reid on keyboards, and Rod Learned on drums, who left after the band's first European tour and was replaced by Rob Brill. The band is well-known for their international hit single “Take My Breath Away,” which was featured in the 1986 film “Top Gun.” The band was heavily influenced by the music of Kraftwork and Ultravox, being drawn to the keyboard sound both bands produced.
