Pepsi's Regret Over Beenie Man Concert

Bosses at PepsiCo have blasted Beenie Man after he allegedly performed songs with anti-gay lyrics at a concert sponsored by the drinks giant.

The Jamaican reggae star came under fire after performing his track Mi Nah Wallah, which contains a line about slitting the throats of gay men, at a concert hosted by PepsiCo in Uganda on Saturday.

Officials for the firm have since denounced Beenie Man's lyrics after protests from gay rights activists, and vowed to use caution when selecting artists for future concerts.

Reggae star Beenie Man has been freed on bail by a judge in his native Jamaica after appearing in court on charges of tax evasion. An arrest warrant was issued for Beenie Man - real name Anthony Moses Davis - last week after he failed to attend court to answer the charges.

The Dude hit maker owes the Jamaican revenue department $415,000 and a further $246,000 in penalties. He claims he was unaware he owed the money, and blamed his business managers for the slip-up.

An arrest warrant has been issued for reggae star Beenie Man after he failed to turn up in court to answer tax evasion charges.

The singer - real name Anthony Moses Davis - was scheduled to appear in court in Jamaica on Monday to explain how he planned to pay 10 years worth of unpaid taxes.

Annoyed Judge Owen Parkins said, "This case is well-publicized and he should have been in court. No one is above the law."

Reggae star Beenie Man has denied reports he signed an agreement vowing to stop using homophobic lyrics.

The artist was claimed to have added his name to the Reggae Compassionate Act, a new drive to "respect and uphold the rights of all individuals to live without violence due to their religion, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity or gender."

Bancehall star Beenie Man has hit out at critics who accuse him of homophobia, insisting Jamaican culture is far less prejudiced than in Israel.
