After defaulting on her mortgage payments, singer Fantasia Barrino has given up her luxury home in North Carolina.
 
Over the last few years, the former "American Idol" star has dealt with money problems and came close to losing her house in 2009. In 2012, the property was put on the market, but she has been unable to sell it.
 
Barrino prevented foreclosure by signing the property deeds straight over to bank bosses, according to TMZ.com. The paperwork was completed in February.

Starpulse caught up with singer/actress Fantasia Barrino for a one on one interview to address her recent gay marriage controversy and to set the record straight. While we had Fantasia’s ear, we got the inside scoop on her new single, her dream duet partner and future plans.

Dallas Xavier Barrino was born two weeks ahead of schedule in North Carolina.

The proud mom tells People.com, "I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family. I thank all my fans for their well wishes and continued support."
