Rockers Metallica have launched their own music festival.

The Orion Music + More event will be staged at Bader Field in New Jersey on June 23rd - 24th and the band will headline.

A post on the Metallica website reads, "After many years of playing at legendary festivals around the world including Reading, Roskilde, Werchter, Rock Im Ring, Rock In Rio, Lollapalooza and countless others, we're hoping to spread the good times and diverse musical feel here in the States..."

Sunday will mark 10 years since 3,000 people died after New York's Twin Towers and the Pentagon in Virginia were struck by suicide bombers.
