The 80's are back in style, for better or for worst, and few things define the genre quite as well as its music. The 80's was probably as a decade responsible for more cheesy pop classics than any other combined, and while some were truly great and classic (see anything from Paul Simon's "Graceland") much of it falls firmly in the "so bad it's good" category.

British progressive 80s rock supergroup, ASIA is back with a brand new album, "Gravitas" (Frontiers Records) (derived from the Latin meaning ‘dignity.’) It’s currently available in four formats as a CD, the deluxe edition with the CD/DVD containing the music video for their track, ‘Valkyrie’ a CD with a bonus track and a special edition Japanese import.

Their last album, “XXX” was released last year.

The legendary British 80s band, ASIA is scheduled to release a new album, ‘Gravitas’ on Frontiers Records on March 21st in Europe and March 25th in North America. The album will be available in two configurations; a standard CD and a deluxe edition that will feature two bonus tracks, a promotional film, and footage of classic live ASIA tracks such as “Heat of the Moment,” recorded with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria. Rock supergroup Asia have been forced to axe their upcoming U.K. tour after drummer Carl Palmer was diagnosed with a serious bacterial infection.

The Heat of the Moment hit-makers were due to celebrate their 30th anniversary on the road with a series of concerts, but they've pulled the plug on seven shows to allow Palmer time to recover from a severe case of E. coli.

ASIA's Original Supergroup Line-Up Returns With First New Studio Album In 25 Years

The acclaimed British progressive rock group ASIA has announced the April 15 (April 14 internationally) release of Phoenix, its first studio album since 1983. Recorded by all four original members, Phoenix will be released on CD and digitally by EMI America Records in North America and by Frontiers Records in the rest of the world.
