As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was sentenced to serve six years in prison after pleading guilty of conspiring to kill his ex-wife Meggan.

Lambesis was sentenced during a hearing in San Diego Superior Court on Friday after pleading guilty to hiring an undercover cop $1,000 to carry out the murder for him. The singer even gave the undercover officer the security code to his ex-wife's front door.

As I Lay Dying Singer Tim Lambesis Pleads Guilty In Plot To Kill
The frontman of the metalcore band As I Lay Dying has pleaded guilty to solicitation of murder charges in a plot to kill his estranged wife, Meggan. Tim Lambesis, who initially denied any wrongdoing, entered the plea at a Vista courthouse in California on Tuesday.

Police arrested Lambesis, 32, in May after he had a meeting with a sheriff's deputy, who posed as a hit man. The singer offered the undercover officer $1,000 to kill his wife. Lambesis gave the officer his wife's address as well as the security code to her front door.

Tim Lambesis, the lead singer of As I lay Dying, has posted his $2 million bail and left the San Diego, California jail holding him.

Lambesis was charged with solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit a crime after he allegedly hired a hitman to kill his estranged wife. That hitman was actually an undercover officer.

The deputy alleges the singer gave him $1,000, the address to his wife's home, and the keycode to her front door.

As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis has pleaded not guilty to charges he tried to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife. Police arrested the Christian rocker in Oceanside, Calif., on Tuesday after reportedly soliciting help from an undercover detective.

Officials charged Lambesis with one count of solicitation to commit murder and one count of conspiracy to commit a crime. He was booked in the Vista Detention Facility.

Tim Lambesis, lead singer for the heavy metal band As I Lay Dying was arrested at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon and charged with Solicitation of Another to Commit Murder and kill his estranged wife.

The singer was taken into custody by police in Oceanside, Calif., while shopping and taken to the Encinitas police station and booked into the Vista Detention Facility, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
