Slipknot's Corey Taylor to be roasted at comedy bash

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has signed up to become the butt of his pals' jokes at an upcoming comedy roast in Columbus, Ohio.

The masked rocker will be targeted by bandmate Shawn 'Clown' Crahan, Anthrax's Scott Ian and Sebastian Bach at the bash, while professional comedians including Jim Florentine, Brian Posehn, Don Jamieson and Craig Gass will also poke fun at Taylor during the Rock & Roll Roast Comedy Series on 15 May (14).

Megadeth and Anthrax have joined Motorhead's heavy rock cruise.

MOTORBOAT will set sail to Key West, Florida and Cozumel, Mexico from Miami in September (14).

Dubbed "the loudest boat in the world", the cruise will also feature performances by Zakk Wylde, Danko Jones and Fireball Ministry.

Motorhead founder Lemmy Kilmister says, "This will be everything you've come to expect from a night out with us, except even louder, with more great bands and no way of escaping! If you thought waves could rock a boat, you've got another thing coming with this lovely little outing!"

Motorhead, Anthrax and Metallica are among the heavy metal heavyweights paying tribute to late rock icon Ronnie James Dio on a new album.

The three acts have joined the likes of Killswitch Engage, Scorpions and Tenacious D to rework Dio's classic tracks for the upcoming release, This is Your Life, which will help raise funds for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund.

Anthrax Guitarist Dan Spitz Arrested

Former Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz was arrested on Christmas morning following an alleged bust-up at his home.

The rocker was detained by police at his property in Lake Worth, Florida after an argument with his wife, Candi, allegedly turned nasty, reports.

Spitz, 50, who left Anthrax in 2007, was booked into a local jail in the early hours of Christmas Day and later released on his own recognisance.

Candi has since spoken out to insist she will not be pressing charges and called the incident a "misunderstanding".

On Friday, police arrested Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante and his wife Sandra on suspicion of domestic battery in front of a child.

After reportedly arguing in front of their young daughter Mia at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Elkhart, Indiana, the couple was taken into custody.

According to local news station, the Benantes were booked at the local county jail and released on Saturday,

Ian, who is a firearms fan, admits he was sickened to hear about the killing spree, which killed 12 people at a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises."

Anthrax Settle Legal Battle With Former Singer

Thrash metal band Anthrax have settled a lawsuit with former frontman Dan Nelson.

Singer Nelson launched a legal battle against bassist Frank Bello, drummer Charlie Benante, and guitarist Scott Ian last year over his sudden departure from the group on the eve of its European tour in 2009.

On Monday, both parties set aside their differences in a New York federal court and came to an agreement.

Former Anthrax star Dan Nelson has launched a $2.65 million defamation lawsuit against the group.

Nelson, who left the band in July, 2009, has accused drummer Charlie Benante, bassist Frank Bello and guitarist Scott Ian of incorrectly informing fans and reporters he "abruptly resigned" after falling ill, forcing Anthrax to cancel a series of European dates. He insists he was fired.

In the suit, the singer also claims Benante told a website that the former frontman was "a bully" and maintains the group's "intentional defamation" has damaged his reputation.

Slipknot To Stream Sonisphere Performance

Rockers Slipknot will share their upcoming set at Britain's Sonisphere festival with fans all over the world by streaming the gig over the internet.

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax Regrouping For Coachella

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax are teaming up again for one U.S. Big Four date on the site of the Coachella Festival.

The heavy metal groups will come together on April 23 for an outdoor supergig at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

The four acts first banded together last year for seven acclaimed shows across Europe.

The rock supergroup formed by members of Fall Out Boy and Anthrax made its live debut in New York on Tuesday night.

Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, Dave Navarro, Aaron Lewis and Disturbed star David Draiman are to pay homage to late rocker 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott as part of an all-star tribute concert in Los Angeles.
