Justin Bieber Easily Tops The Billboard 200
It was expected to be a hard-fought battle – one comprised of scrapping, clawing and crazed tween girls! Ultimately, Justin Bieber handily outperformed British boy band One Direction for the number one spot on the Billboard 200. Both Justin Bieber and One Direction touted impressive, robust numbers, but the discrepancy between the two is shocking. Let’s break down the numbers, shall we?

Justin Bieber’s Purpose ended up impacting to the tune of 649,000 units, hence making Purpose the highest debuting album of 2015. Even considering that 80% of that total make up pure sales, that’s still a b...

Review: Adele Delivers Another Stellar Album With '25'
After four long years, big-voiced, British pop singer/songwriter phenomenon (mouthful) Adele returns with her highly anticipated third studio album, 25. In a short amount of time, the accolades that Adele has achieved in her career are remarkable: 10 Grammy awards, an academy award for best original song, and a diamond certified album (21). 25 seeks to continue the greatness which Adele seems to exemplify with ease. While following 21 is an arduous task, Adele picks right up where she left off on 25.

“Hello” rightfully initiates 25 in stellar fashion. Following up juggernaut singles that m...

Adele Shows Off Noticeably Thinner Figure In NYC & London
English singer Adele, whose new single "Hello" is a massive hit, is looking noticeably thinner these days, and she credits exercise for her new sleek look.

She told the latest issue of Rolling Stone that exercise has helped her drop several pounds -- but she's not exactly thrilled about working out.

"It’s not to be a size zero or anything like that, I mainly moan. I’m not skipping to the f--king gym, I don’t enjoy it," she revealed.

"I do like doing weights. I don't like looking in the mirror. Blood vessels burst on my face easily so I'm so conscious when I'm lifting weights not to let ...

Chris Stapleton Comes Up Big For Second Straight Week

11/17/2015 11:08am EST
Chris Stapleton Makes It Two Weeks Atop The Billboard 200
Chris Stapleton sure came up – big time. After reentering the Billboard 200 with his critically lauded debut Traveller at number one, Stapleton keeps the top spot warm. Why is this surprising this week? There were several new albums, but none of them had the support to unseat the country singer/songwriter. Interestingly, Stapleton still had a big impact, to the tune of 124,000 units (78% of those were sales).

The newbies also couldn’t take the runner-up spot, with Eric Church’s surprise effort Mr. Misunderstood improving from #3 to #2 despite losing support. Still, with a modest 65,000 uni...

Adele's Answer To Posing For Playboy Magazine Is Powerfully Funny

11/5/2015 11:26am EST
Adele has no interest in taking her clothes off for Hugh Hefner's magazine. The Playboy publisher's company apparently asked the Hello singer to pose nude several times in the past; but Adele is confused about two things: she's not sure the Playboy Magazine gesture is due to her weight as a plus-size woman -- or is purely sexist.

After taking hiatus for a time as a new mommy, and recovering from throat surgery, Adele is is back with new music, and is breaking records along the way.

According to Nielsen Music, her new single -- from 25 -- that is not even out until November 20, sold over...

Adele Says Her Weight Makes Her 'Relatatble' To Fans
British singer-songwriter Adele says that she doesn't hold anything against pop stars who show off a lot more flesh than she does, but she also won't be following them anytime soon.

She said, "Would I show my body off if I was thinner?" during a revealing interview with Rolling Stone.

"Probably not, because my body is mine. But sometimes I'm curious to know if I would have been as successful if I wasn't plus-size. I think I remind everyone of themselves."

5 Seconds Of Summer Bests Carrie Underwood For No. 1 On Billboar
On the Billboard 200 this week, it was youth that prevailed in a race for the number one spot. In the end, Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer scored atop the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive time with Sounds Good Feels Good. While Sounds Good Feels Good was unable to top the numbers put up by their 2014 self-titled debut album, the 192,000 units easily trumped the more modest numbers put up by Pentatonix’s chart-topping album last week. Of those 192,000 units, 93% were pure sales.

As disappointing as it may be for the once unstoppable Carrie Underwood to be beat for the top spot, Unde...

Ah, what’s in an album title? A lot, depending on the respective album. In the case of the albums that grace this list, numbers play a role in the title and in some cases have significance. Regardless, here’s a list of albums featuring numbers in their title – all since 2000 – and the meaning of the album’s title.

1) All of Adele's albums

Pop superstar Adele seems to love numbers, particularly her ages. All three of Adele’s studio albums (19, 21, and 25) all feature numbers in the title. While it might ...

Adele Teases New Album, World Music Awards Spills The Beans
Adele was being coy when it came to revealing her next album, but it appears it has all been spoiled by the Twitter account of the World Music Awards.

Back in May, Adele wrote after her 26th birthday, "Bye Bye 25... see you again later in the year." Adele's previous albums were titled 19 and 21, with 21 coming out in 2011. If Adele were to release her third album four years later, it would make sense to name it 25.

Bye bye 25... See you again later in the year x

2014 Grammy Awards Reactions: The Triumphs And Fails
Another year and another Grammys ceremony has come and passed. As always, there were moments that thrilled while others made me curse under my breath. Luckily, as a music journalist, this guy has learned how to think like the Recording Academy, hence the accuracy of many of my picks this year. Still, even being correct, you have to wonder what the Academy is thinking sometimes. Yes, I’m specifically referencing the fact that Kendrick Lamar was shut out – ridiculous! But here goes nothing examining the awards given.

Adele Tops Britain's Richest Young Musicians List

4/11/2013 7:37pm EDT
Adele has taken the top spot on Sunday Times' list of Britain's richest young musicians thanks to an estimated $48 million fortune.

Adele will turn 25 next month on May 13, but she has already won an Oscar for her James Bond theme Skyfall and has earned approximate $16 million in the last 12 months.

The sudden influx of cash over the last year has put her ahead of other British musicians such as Cheryl Cole ($22 million), Leona Lewis ($19 million), Katie Melua ($19 million), and Florence Welch ($14 million).

Despite those nice numbers, they pale in comparison to veterans of the industry....

Last month, Rivers was on David Letterman's late night show when she suggested Adele should rename her song "Rolling in the Deep" to "Rolling in the Deep Fried Chicken."

Last week, when asked about the comments by Huffington Post, Rivers doubled down: "She's a chubby lady who's very, very rich, and she should just calm down -- or lose weight!"

"She wanted an apology, so I took an ad out on her a**. I said, 'You are not fat.' And then I had room for a lot of other ads,...

85th Academy Awards Fashion: The Best & Worst

2/25/2013 8:54am EST
85th Academy Awards Fashion: The Best & Worst
The biggest event of the year in Hollywood took place on Sunday night - The 85th Annual Academy Awards - and the stars primped and preened for their red carpet appearances.

There weren't any major fashion flubs (and admit it, that's one of the reasons you tuned in to watch!) but there were a few style missteps. For example, usually a "best" list regular, Halle Berry looked a little too space age in a black and silver heavily striped Versace gown.

Kristen Stewart also disappointed in a Remm Acra lace dress that didn't do much for her skin tone nor her figure.

Conversely, Jennifer Aniston'...
