The ruling was the result of a proposal from British singer Cliff Richard, who proposed to give composers an extra 25 years to benefit from their creations. On Monday, members of the European Union Council voted in favor of the "Saviour's Day" singer's proposal; however instead of 25 years they extended the copyright on sound recordings by 20 years.

Amanda Seyfried is adamant a Mamma Mia! sequel will never make it to the big screen because script writers have nowhere to take the story.

Following the film's success, Seyfried admitted she spread rumors of a sequel around Hollywood because she was desperate to return to her role as love struck Sophie.

But now the actress has conceded she will never play the part again - ...

Meanwhile, British bookmakers have slashed the odds of ABBA landing a number one this year - from 20/1 to 5/1.

In an interview published last week, Faltskog said she would consider get...

Colin Firth
Colin Firth is eager to shed his serious movie image - he'd love to play "a transvestite or a stripper" on the big screen.

The British actor shot to fame in a 1990s TV adaption of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice and has since gone on to play stoic roles in films like Girl with a Pearl Earring and first-time director Tom Ford's acclaimed 2009 movie A Single Man.

Firth is tipped for Oscar glory next year with his portrayal of stuttering monarch King George VI in new royal drama The King's Speech - but the actor admits he'd like to take on a very different role next.

Amanda Seyfried's Va-Jay-Jay Slang Tattoo

3/31/2010 9:16am EDT
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried has shown her cheeky sense of humor - the actress has a crude slang term for female genitalia tattooed on her left foot.

The Mamma Mia! actress stunned reporters at the London premiere of her latest film Dear John by sporting the word 'minge' - a British expression for vagina - on her foot.

And the star revealed she got the naughty body-art following her role in the big-screen ABBA musical after hearing her Brit co-star Colin Firth and real-life boyfriend Dominic Cooper use the term.

She explained, "It's to make me laugh, and every time I look at it, I do."

Writer's Viewpoint: Disputing An Iconic Song List

1/30/2009 2:14pm EST
It takes a cataclysmic event to derail Overrated/Underrated from its usual Friday spot. Currently the Oscars have been serving as that disruptive force, but this week interruption comes from the most unlikely source: a sports columnist from the Kansas City Star.

This is because Joe Posnanski has suggested on his blog that we stop voting artists into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame and shift our focus to Hall-Worthy songs. Songs he deems "Iconic". His criterion for including a song on the ballot is that it be "A song that represents a set of beliefs or a way of life. So, I see these s...
