After spending the summer opening for some of the biggest names in rock music, Virgin Records rock-quintet Saving Abel have announced that they will open for the biggest names in politics, playing at the first Obama / McCain Presidential debate on Sep. 26 at the University of Mississippi. Eleven Seven Music/Atlantic recording group Buckcherry will continue on their upcoming tour as planned, despite the announcement that Avenged Sevenfold has had to cancel their performances in September and early October. Saving Abel, the Skiddco/Virgin Records debut album of southern rock quintet Saving Abel, has achieved a career milestone for the band by taking the No. 1 position on Billboard's Heatseekers listing, in its twelfth charting week. Saving Abel also tops the Nielsen Soundscan new artists album chart this week.

"Addicted," the album's unabashedly randy first single, is also nearing a chart summit, bulleting to No. 3 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The track also has entered the Top 15 in the Hot Modern Rock Tracks listing. The digital single has sold over 100,000 downloads.

12 Stones, Korn, & More Contribute To 'World's Strongest Man' Soundtrack, Out Dec. 18

Wind-up Records and IMG Media have announced the release of the inaugural soundtrack for The World's Strongest Man franchise, airing on 2. The title will be available exclusively through Amazon upon release.

Mandeville, Louisiana-based quartet 12 Stones, signed to Wind-up Records, was filmed recently in Baton Rouge. The footage will be cut into the program to their song "Adrenaline" as the opener of each episode this season.
