Superb horror-comedy in the tradition of "Shaun Of The Dead"! Harrelson,Eisenberg,Breslin and Stone gave strong,laugh-out-loud performances!

My Grade: (B+). Most of my male friends are very picky when it comes to movies. It pleased me greatly when the three of them gave me their glowing approvals after our screening. "Zombieland" is a bloody, intense horror-comedy that fires on all cylinders. "Zombieland" leaps off to a fast, raucous start with Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) delivering snappy narration while carnage and calamity is occurring all around him. Columbus is a shy, smarty pants, college student who has masterfully dodged becoming zombie food by reciting from his list of strict rules. His fond memories of an encounter with 406 (Amber Heard) is spooky and well-done. Columbus is on a mission to find any remains of his Ohio-based parents. While touring across a stretch of burned-out , decrepit, wasteland, he comes into contact with Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson). His entrance is a real eye-opener. Tally rolls up in a looted Cadillac Escalade, that gives homage to the late Dale Earnhardt. To avoid developing close ties, they refer to each other by their destinations. Tally's insatiable hunger for Twinkies leads them to a beautifully crafted scene inside of a grocery store. Tally does his best imitation of Babe Ruth on the skulls of some big, fat zombies. Wichita (Emma Stone) enters the picture after Tally finished putting foot to butt for his country. Wichita and Little Rock(Abigail Breslin) are scheming sisters who prey on dumb, horny men. The sultry Wichita and Little Rock eventually form a friendship after a playing a little "cat and mouse" with the two guys. The sisters are headed for California, where they believe that an amusement park is the only zombie-free zone in the country. The foursome have great chemistry. Columbus develops a crush on Wichita. The men abandon their plans and tag along with the girls. On their way to the amusement park, Tally drives them to the mansion of a celebrity. His cameo brought the house down during both of my screenings. A shocking revelation is brought to light while playing a board game by a roaring fire in the celebrity's mansion. The scheming sisters also have a motto. And that motto forces them to outwit the guys once again. It's up to Tallahassee and Columbus to save the day when the sisters are besieged by a horde of ravenous zombies. "Zombieland" loses some steam during the final act, but this film is still worth the price of admission. Emma Stone is a very attractive lady. Her full lips are an amazing sight.
