This week's new releases include the mathematical drama Proof with Gwyneth Paltrow and Jake Gyllenhaal, the action-adventure Zathura from the writer of The Polar Express and Jumanji, the sickly twisted horror film Saw II, and the mystical sci-fi fantasy Mirrormask.

This week is a big one for CD releases with a number of new albums coming out in time for the holiday shoppping blitz. Some of the notable discs include new ones from System of a Down, Jamie Foxx, Chamillionaire, Enya and Juelz Santana; live albums from John Mayer, John Legend, Michael Buble, Bouncing Souls and Queens Of The Stone Age; some interesting collections from Notorious B.I.G., Britney Spears and Big Boi; and whole lot more. Not surprisingly, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire dominated the box office this weekend. Fans went to theaters in droves to watch Harry, Hermione, and Ron in the fourth film of the popular franchise. The movie grossed over $101 million, making it the fourth largest three-day opening weekend following Spider-Man ($114 million) and Star Wars: Episode III and Shrek 2 (both $108 million).

Chicken Little dominated the box office again in its second weekend, taking in $32 million from movie audiences. Zathura, another kid-targeted film, came in second place with $14 million. The thriller Derailed starring Jennifer Aniston and Clive Owen opened in third place with $12.8 million. Also in the top 10 this week:

Hip-hop star 50 Cent makes his movie debut in Get Rich or Die Tryin’, a hard-edged urban drama inspired by the rapper's own life. The film is about an inner city drug dealer (50 Cent) who leaves crime behind to pursue his passion: rap music. Derailed centers on an illicit love affair between Charles (Clive Owen) and Lucinda (Jennifer Aniston) that goes terribly wrong. When a criminal learns about their indiscretion, he blackmails the unfaithful couple.
