December 31st, 2011 11:30am EST
Quatum of Solace
Ian Fleming based his James Bond character on composer Andrew Lloyd Webber's former father-in-law.

The theatre impresario's TV personality daughter Imogen has revealed the writer drew inspiration for his superspy from her grandfather.

She says, "He's based on my mother's father. He served under Ian Fleming in the war in naval intelligence, and my grandfather is one of the men James Bond is based upon. It's a very cool claim to fame."

September 26th, 2009 1:52pm EDT
9
In honor of the recent Tim Burton film 9 we're spotlighting numerals and numbers in film. What they have contributed to movies over the years goes beyond simply differentiating an original from a sequel.

For the most part this list excludes sequels. Sorry. It's just too easy. Also, much too simple are the straight up number films. But the English language loopholes are definitely abused throughout this top ten to reflect the best and, well, most viewed options. Check them out!

1. The First Wives Club.

This is the smartass chick's chick flick with a message. Bette Midler. Goldie ...

The British star joined the film franchise at the spy's boss M in 1995's Goldeneye and became an instant hit with fans. But she often threatens to walk away from the role - until movie bosses convince her to stay.

Broccoli, the daughter of original Bond producer Cubby Broccoli, tells Comingsoon.net: "She is our anchor. She is the anchor of the film in terms of the character. She is the only authoritative figure in Bond's life. She had such a great relationship with Pi...

Quantum of Solace
This Friday, Sir Ian Fleming's James Bond is back in theaters. Daniel Craig has brought a brute anger to the role that has not quite been seen before. Craig is under contract for one more Bond film after Quantum of Solace, but what if he does not return after that twenty-third film? What will his post Bond career look like? Let's take a look at all the actors who have played 007 -- rouge film, or not -- and what their post Bond careers looked like.

Alice Cooper: 'I Want To Be Bond Villain'

July 21st, 2008 9:51am EDT
Alice Cooper
Rocker Alice Cooper wants to be a James Bond villain - and reckons he could "take on Daniel Craig".

The star - real name Vincent Furnier - would love to swap music for acting and is convinced he would make the perfect Bond arch-enemy in a movie - because he already looks like a baddie.

He tells British newspaper The People, "I've always wanted to play a Bond villain. I see myself as a great adversary like Blofeld, though I'd have a python, instead of a white cat. I don't think Bond has ever really had a nemesis to match him so I could be that. He needs someone the audience belie...

Sean Connery To Return As A Bond Villain?

March 28th, 2008 8:45am EDT
Sean Connery
Former James Bond star Sean Connery is considering returning to the 007 franchise as a villain. The 77-year-old was the first actor to play the legendary super-spy and starred in seven of the hit films, with his last outing in 1983's Never Say Never Again.

Although Connery will not be reprising his most famous role, he is considering a part in a new Bond movie - but only if he is cast as a bad guy. He says, "I wouldn't mind coming back as a Bond villain. But I don't think they would pay me enough. They don't pay the money for other parts, only for the Bond character, although that was...
