Kim Novak gives one of the greatest of all performances ever in Vertigo. I cannot think of any actress other than Garbo who could have done this Part so well. Magnficent. Novak is so beautiful in this movie that sometimes one is simply stunned. Interesting note: While Vertigo is now regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. Neither Director Alfred Hitchcock nor Kim Novak nor James Stewart were even nominated much less awarded an Oscar. Nor was the Picture. Of the great trio of Hitchcock/Steward/Novak only Miss Novak survives and why hasn't the Academy just fess up and give Miss Novak an Honorary Oscar. Few deserve it more. It will be 50 years next year that this film debuted and I would not be suprised if they re release it in Theatres. | ||
