Chris Pine Sued By Former Talent Agents

February 14th, 2012 2:27pm EST
Chris Pine
Actor Chris Pine is facing legal action from his former talent agents amid allegations they're owed millions of dollars in commission.

The movie hunk landed his first acting roles in 2003, in episodes of hit TV series ER and CSI: Miami, but it wasn't until 2009 that he shot to stardom after scoring the role of Captain Kirk in director J.J. Abrams' Star Trek remake.

However, bosses at SDB Partners claim Pine decided to dump his representatives in November, via email, after allegedly ignoring demands to pay the agents their 10 per cent commission for Star Trek and other projects they clai...

Denzel Washington: 'Being An Idiot Is What Compelled Me To Do My Own Stunts'

November 24th, 2010 7:18pm EST
Denzel Washington
Denzel Washington took his life in his hands to film new action movie Unstoppable - the actor insisted on filming his own death-defying stunts.

The Training Day star appears alongside Chris Pine in the story of a runaway train, which the two men attempt to stop, and Washington is seen clambering on top of the fast-travelling carriage. The 55 year old admits his decision to tackle the dangerous move is "the stupidest thing" he's ever done for a film, but he wanted the shoot to look realistic for audiences.

He tells BBC Radio 1, "Being an idiot is what compelled me to do my own stunts. I ...

'Unstoppable' Review: Nonstop Entertainment

November 12th, 2010 8:30am EST
Unstoppable
Unstoppable is fun, rollicking and harmless. It's loud, it's clangy, it doesn't take itself terribly seriously, and it provides a good helping of arm squeezing “Oh Jesus” moments.

“Oh Jesus” moments: where something harrowing occurs on screen and the person next to you grabs your arm and exclaims “Oh Jesus!”. These moments occur in Speed, Silver Streak, Die Hard, Not without my daughter, and True Lies. And now, Unstoppable.

Unstoppable has it all. Last second escapes, speeding trains colliding. A guy a few days from retirement dying in a fiery explosion, douchey corporate american bosses ...

'Unstoppable' Review: 'Two Jews On Film' Aren't On The Same Track (Video)

November 11th, 2010 11:00am EST
Unstoppable
'Unstoppable', inspired by actual events, is one big adrenaline rush, thanks to director Tony Scott's ability to mix non-stop action with story telling that captures ordinary people placed in extraordinary circumstances. A veteran train engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine) race against the clock to stop an unmanned runaway train and prevent a disaster in a heavily populated town. The first half of the film is nothing to write home about - mostly setting up the action and meeting the characters...But half way through, 'Unstoppable' really picks up steam and it's...

Review: You Will Laugh At The Sheer Lunacy Of 'Unstoppable'

November 10th, 2010 9:45am EST
Unstoppable
Let’s face it, real life is not very interesting most days. That is one of the reasons movies have such power over us; they offer a fantastic escape from reality. Thanks to the magic of special effects and suspension of disbelief, films have the ability to take us places our lives cannot. Usually we have that concept in mind when we hear that a film is “based on actual events.” We assume that the filmmakers have taken some liberties with the story to make it more exciting.

The best movies based on real life however keep a balance between the true account and the sensationalized version...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Unstoppable,' 'Morning Glory,' & More

November 8th, 2010 9:45am EST
Unstoppable
I thoroughly enjoyed the premiere of AMC’s new series “The Walking Dead” last Sunday. I’m excited to see the next episode and I am hopeful that the series will continue to sustain the dramatic tension and strong human focus present in the first episode.

On the movie front, I had the opportunity to see the Todd Philips comedy “Due Date starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. While the plot itself is formulaic, the film is quite funny due to the performances by Downey Jr. and Galifianakis. Check out my review here, if you have not already.

This week at the box office you’ll h...
