Review: 'Tron: Legacy' Welcomes Anyone Willing To Ride The Lightning
Once-upon-a-time in the year 1982, a film titled ‘TRON’ was dropped like a bomb on a war torn country. At the time I’m in the second (2nd) grade and to be honest, the attention-span of an eight (8) year-old isn’t as open as one who’s say thirty-six (36), and although I remember the movie poster all over subway billboards around my neighborhood, TV commercials and a then school mate (Angel Torres) whom I still keep in touch with mentioning to me how he had seen it, loved it and in broken second (2nd) grade English explaining to me what the film’s about, I was blah about it and moved on! Even...
READ MOREReview: 'Tron: Legacy' Game On!
In the 28 years it took for “Tron: Legacy” to reach your local Theater or IMAX screen, Communism fell, Al Gore invented the Internet and discovered global warming, and the idea of a movie based around video games became less of a “WTF”. The original “Tron”, for me, was always elusive. Every now and then I'd catch a half hour here, twenty minutes there, always on late night TV, but never had I seen the entire film.
This did not stop me from engorging myself on the Sequel. This movie is the visuals, and they deliver. They deliver in so many ways it's impossible to describe. For all the award...

Radical Retro Movie Review: 'Tron'
When Disney’s “Tron” zoomed in theaters during the summer of 1982, audiences were whisked away on an unprecedented journey into the digital space of video games and computers. Its unique storytelling experience rests mainly on its groundbreaking special effects, which mix live action and computer animation. With a sequel “Tron: Legacy” arriving in theaters this week nearly 30 years later, it feels appropriate to examine the impact of the original on popular culture.

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Tron: Legacy,' 'Yogi Bear,' & More
Last Thursday I saw “I Love You Philip Morris” starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. This film, which is written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and Jon Requa, the team behind “Bad Santa,” advertises itself as a funny movie; however it leans more dramatic than expected. Most of the hilarious lines are spoiled by the trailer, so when you get a chance to see the whole product, you’ll find yourself a bit let down.
Both Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor are incredibly convincing as a gay couple from the manner of their speaking down to the body language that they use. Their story is one that pull...

Olivia Wilde Is A Goddess In Gold At The 'Tron: Legacy' Premiere
Olivia Wilde attended the "TRON: Legacy" Los Angeles premiere last night in an eye-popping gold sequin dress. The super sparkly gown reminds us of the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. What do you think?
The "House" star recently talked about her "Tron" character Quorra's revealing skintight suit.
She explained, "I saw the boobs on the suit and I said, 'Oh, hell no. I'm doing kicks and backflips in this thing?' We modeled the character on Joan of Arc but with the hair of Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs."

Jeff Bridges Hopes 'Tron' Technology Replaces Actors
Jeff Bridges hopes the new visual effects used to take 30 years off him in the new Tron sequel will allow him to continue making movies - but never set foot on a film shoot again.
The 60-year-old veteran actor stars as video game hacker Kevin Flynn in Tron Legacy, reprising a character he played in the original Tron in 1982.
Experts were able to create a digital version of Bridges in his 30s by recording his facial movements and superimposing them onto the body of a younger man - and the Oscar winner has hailed the advancement as a "new era of film-making."

Jeff Bridges: Comic-Con And Fans Responsible For Getting 'Tron Legacy' Financed & Rolling
Jeff Bridges followed up his Oscar winning role in Crazy Heart with a return to his 1982 cult classic Tron. Attending San Diego Comic-Con with the Tron Legacy cast and filmmakers, Bridges hung out with the fans at a party in Flynn’s Arcade, a recreation of his character’s hangout in Tron. He took photos with anyone who asked and signed autographs for gamers and movie buffs.
“It’s so exciting,” Bridges said in a press conference in San Diego. “Comic-Con wasn’t around back when the first one came out. To feel the energy of the people, we really sensed it when we came here last year and showe...

Visual Effects of 'Tron Legacy' Is Hard Work
The difference between technology from Tron to Tron Legacy is stick figures to fully populated cities. All that fancy stuff doesn't make it any easier to save the cyber world though. The young stars of Tron Legacy still had to wear complicated light suits that made basic scene work exhausting.
"Once in the Tron world we wear this very technical suit," said Garrett Hedlund. "That's fantastic and it looks amazing every time it's on screen, especially in 3-D, but for two months straight, all day, every day, and being in this you start to forget what it was like to film a film with just jean...

Daft Punk To Compose 'TR2N' Soundtrack
Faceless French dance music duo Daft Punk have landed the soundtrack to Disney's Tron remake. The "Harder Better Faster Stronger" hitmakers, who appear onstage and in videos as robots, will record the tracks for TR2N in a new Los Angeles studio they have built.
The original 1982 science fiction classic featured a soundtrack from Wendy Carlos, a musician and composer who helped to popularize the Moog synthesizer as a musical instrument.

Writer's Viewpoint: Certain Films Lose Their Allure As We Age
I witnessed the masterpiece that is "The Dark Knight" over the weekend. We do not need to rehash why this film is so good; every perceivable media outlet has already done that. For me, one notable side effect of the film's greatness was to revisit "Batman" from 1989. Unfortunately, the years have not been kind to Tim Burton's vision of Batman, to the point where the film comes off almost campy. This is surprising considering that in 1989 the film was marketed as an answer to fans that complained about the tongue-in-cheek attitude of the 1960's television series.

READ MOREWorst Movie Moment for Jeff Bridges? Wearing a Jockstrap for 'Tron'
Jeff Bridges hated making 1982 film Tron because he had to spend 16 weeks wearing tights and a jockstrap. The gladiatorial cyber-adventure film was the star's worst movie experience because his restrictive dance belt made sitting down impossible.
Bridges tells British film magazine Empire: "I was drawn to that (Tron) because nothing like that had ever been done before. Of course, things progress so rapidly that as soon as we did it, it became passe. It was a pain in the a** to make. Literally."
