Trilogies tend to have bigger, more elaborate worlds with finer details you won't find in your run of the mill two hour flick.

Here are 10 of the greatest trilogies of all time that any reputable movie buff must check off their watch list.

So I went right to the source (my 10-year-old son Will Graham - named after a movie character of course!) and he gave up his pick for this year’s kid flick...

Funny thing is it’s actually one of my favorites too! So check out the highlights, the beauty of Buzz, and wonderment of Woody below!

Workers Ready Balloons For The 84th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (Pics)

November 25th, 2010 12:51am EST
For most people Thanskgiving Day is about turkey, football and the late afternoon tryptophan coma (a myth that's been debunked - yet we all get sleepy for some reason). But none of it would feel right without starting the day with a little breakfast, a hot cup of coffee and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The yearly American tradition expects 3.5 million people to line the streets of New York City with another 50 million television viewers watching from the comfort of their living rooms.

The parade is most notable for it's gigantic helium ballons, marching bands and dance troupes; as ...

Cheryl Burke Confuses ‘Toy Story 3’ Premiere With ‘Sex Toy Story 3’ Premiere

June 14th, 2010 11:37am EDT
Cheryl Burke
"Dancing With The Stars" pro Cheryl Burke must not have gotten the memo that the "Toy Story 3" premiere in Los Angeles was a family event. She sexed up the red carpet in a tight, white mini dress and black f***-me boots.

The two-time DWTS champ made headlines on the latest season of her hit TV show for her alleged relationship with partner Chad Ochocinco. But despite their on-screen sexual tension, the couple are just friends. Ochocinco and Burke were the eighth couple eliminated from the "Dancing with the Stars" tenth season.

The football star is now seeking a mate on upcoming reality da...

March 11th, 2010 11:00am EST
A Sneak Preview Of Pixar Sequels Toy Story 3 & Cars 2
Every Pixar film is an event, just for being Pixar. At the Visual Effects Society Awards, Pixar Studios president Ed Catmull was honored with the George Melies award. He previewed Pixar’s upcoming sequels Toy Story 3 and Cars 2, so in addition to being major Pixar movies, fans of the originals can specifically look forward to those stories continuing.

Toy Story 3 comes 10 1/2 years after Toy Story 2. “It’s one of those things where it’s good that we waited,” Dr. Catmull said. “We’ve in fact got all the same voices back, including Andy. It all fits together very nicely. It’s a really good f...

September 16th, 2009 9:37am EDT
Bill Hader
"Knocked Up," "SuperBad," Hot Rod," "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," "Tropic Thunder," "The Pineapple Express, Adventureland." All films -- released just in the last two years -- featuring (obviously, from the title of this post) "Saturday Night Live" star Bill Hader. Bill Hader now takes on his first leading role, sort of, as wayward inventor Flint Lockwood in the new 3-D animated feature, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Hader, in this one on one interview, discusses with us the challenges of voice over work, his recent success in films as a supporting character and how all of this would ...

An Inside Look At 'Toy Story 3' From Disney's D23 Expo

September 15th, 2009 9:30am EDT
Toy Story 3
There was little question that many of D23's many participants were mainly there to see the exclusive clips John Lasseter previewed from Toy Story 3. Lasseter himself said he had been thinking about this movie since 1999, when his team was working on the second installment. In many film series, especially ones that start production years after the originals, the young actors have to be recast as they age. However, Disney has rarely seemed to subscribe to this seemingly cruel Hollywood rule (Eric Lloyd appears as a somewhat surly teenager in The Santa Clause 2 and then comes back for a cameo...

This Week's Movie Buzz: See It, Rent It, Or Skip It?

May 26th, 2009 8:57am EDT
This week is probably the least exciting of the summer movie season so far because we don't have an epic blockbuster premiering. There are three movies coming out, two of which are mainstream releases. Pixar fans will be happy to see the group's latest animated feature, and Sam Raimi aficionados will get their fix with something that thankfully isn't another "Spider-Man" movie.

While I tend to like Pixar's movies, I never generally get super excited about seeing them in the movie theater. Aside from "Wall-E" and "Toy Story," which I saw in theaters, I've enjoyed their other films ...

'Shrek' Tops Big Kids Film Poll

January 27th, 2009 9:44am EST
Animated movie Shrek has topped a poll of kids films most loved by adults.

The 2001 animated adventure beat out competition from Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean and Pixar/Disney movie Finding Nemo, which claimed second and third places respectively. Tom Hanks-starring Toy Story earned the fourth spot, while the top five was rounded out by Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone.

A spokesman for the survey says, "Shrek is a great film if you are four or five. The adult humor keeps the older generations happy."

Other movies to garner a mention include Mrs...

Underrated & Overrated Films Of The $300 Million Club

August 1st, 2008 12:55pm EDT
"Iron Man", "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," and "The Dark Knight" all joined the $300 Million Club this year, swelling its membership to 29 films.

The films in this select group are made up of big-budget action extravaganzas, animated new classics and even some prestige pictures that touched a nerve with a wide audience. Whatever the movie may be, once it hits the triple-century mark, it's a bona fide smash and destined to become a classic.

This milestone is not always a sign of quality; however, as many films that become so popular simply stink. It also is...

'WALL-E' Earns Accolade as 2008’s First Perfect Film

June 26th, 2008 9:24am EDT
(Hollywoodchicago) – While perfection can be characterized in many ways, there’s only one way to define perfect in the world of film: a picture that has everything you could ask for with nothing you could cut. Though this is a highly unlikely proposition, “WALL-E” has become 2008’s first perfect film and one of the best Pixar projects of all time.

The man with the ingeniously imaginative story and the decisive direction to be credited with every inch of success “WALL-E” is destined to reap is none other than Andrew Stanton.

Indeed, Stanton is intimately familiar with w...

Movies With Heart: The 100 Best 'Romdramedies' Of The Past 20 Years

April 17th, 2008 8:00am EDT
There's the quintessential romantic comedy, and then there's the romdramedy. Similar to a dramedy (in which there is an equal balance of humor and serious content), a romdramedy combines comedy and drama with that mushy thing we call romance.

This is not a list of the best films over the past 20 years. Rather it is a list that gives preferences to those films that best combine all three elements - romance, comedy and drama.

Films like Magnolia and The Matrix were barred from competition, while films like Down with Love were considered (however, that one didn't make the cut)....

Notes & Quotes

March 9th, 2008 7:00pm EDT
Toy Story
A musical version of animated movie Toy Story will debut aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship when it docks at Port Canaveral, Florida on April 10.

James Bond producers were forced to scrap a Friday shoot at the ancient Inca ruins at Machu Picchu in Peru, due to uncertain weather conditions. The cast and crew were looking forward to taking over Peru's top tourist attraction for scenes in the new Bond film Quantum of Solace, but the threat of heavy rain vetoed the shoot.

Joss Whedon is the 43-year-old writer/director/producer who is best known for creating Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The son of Golden Girls scribe Tom Whedon, Joss followed in the family business when, after receiving his film degree from Wesleyan University in 1987, he found work as a writer on Roseanne. It wasn't until the early 90s that Whedon would begin walking the path to becoming the creative force he is known as today.

The Biggest Movie Mistakes of 2007

December 30th, 2007 12:00pm EST
Jessica Simpson
2007 had some good, some bad, and some just downright ugly and unfortunate events in the entertainment business. Here's my rant on the ugly: The Biggest Movie Mistakes of 2007.

"Grindhouse" is split in two for its DVD release

I just didn't understand why movie goers were not lined up around the block. As soon as I saw the trailer and saw that it had something to do with a chick with a gun for a leg, Kurt Russell, and that Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez were behind it, I was there. What more could you possibly ask for? In this case, it wasn't just a movie, it was an experie...
