Bill Holden and Jennifer Jones two decades earlier were the stars of Love Is A Many Splendored Things.. Here they are supporting players to Steve McQueen and Paul Newman and Faye Dunaway. Holden looks tired and much older than his years and Miss Jones wonderful in a cameo in a romance with Fred Astaire. The scenes between Jones and Astaire are meaningful and fine indeed. Supported by R J Wagner, Richard Chamberlain and a heineous murder whose name will not be mentioned this is a great action movie. Again it is great to see Jones, Astaire and Holden back up on the big screen. Steve McQueen had a small supporting role in a Paul Newman movie in the l950's and in this film he insisted on top billing first billing over Newman. Newman consented and after all being the Humanitarian he is now world famous for realized there are fights worth fighting for and others not. | ||
