If there truly is art in making movie trailers, then teaser trailers should be considered the Mona Lisa of the film world. Total Recall And 8 Other 90s Film Remakes

August 3rd, 2012 1:07pm EDT
Total Recall
Think it's too early to remake films from the 1990s? Think again. Total Recall, the sci-fi action hit from 1990, has the spotlight once again as its remake hits theaters this weekend. In honor of the occasion we took a look at films from the 1990s that have been repurposed - we use that word, because half of these films are ideas lifted from other countries.

Bangkok Dangerous: Nicolas Cage's production company purchased the right to a remake of a 1999 Thai shoot-em-up of the same name. Basically, Cage goes to Bangkok and kills a lot of people. The film was thrashed in reviews, but it sti...

Kate Beckinsale Wears A Daring, Reptilian-Like Dress To 'Total Recall' Premiere

August 2nd, 2012 9:03am EDT
Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale made a fashion statement at the "Total Recall" premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday. The actress slithered down the red carpet in a textured green and black dress that looked like it was made of snake skin.

Few actresses could pull off a dress like that and make it look good, but Kate managed to do so.

In the remake of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger film, Kate has a fight scene with Jessica Biel. Beckinsale recently told Allure magazine, "It's not like a naked, porno, mud-wrestling-in-a-bar sort of fight, it's a real fight."

Beckinsale's husband Len Wiseman directs the film...

Jessica Biel Tweets Photo Of New 'Total Recall' Three-Breasted Hooker Kaitlyn Leeb

July 19th, 2012 5:15pm EDT
Jessica Biel and Kaitlyn Leeb
Jessica Biel was quick to locate the most popular girl at Comic Con last weekend, and she didn't have to go very far to find her.

Amongst all the Wonder Women, Catwomen, Slave Princess Leias and other sexy costumes at this year's convention, one woman stood out for three big reasons.

Actress Kaitlyn Leeb, who portrays a hooker with three breasts in director Len Wiseman's remake of Total Recall; which features Biel; was in full character at this year's convention - and turned lots of heads. We're guessing there were plenty of double and, ahem, triple takes from attendees passing by the fil...

Colin Farrell: 'I Didn't Feel The Need To Fill Schwarzenegger's Shoes'

July 15th, 2012 1:33pm EDT
Colin Farrell
Colin Farrell had no desire to imitate Arnold Schwarzenegger's Total Recall performance in the upcoming remake, insisting the film "felt different enough" from the 1990 original for him to make his mark on the role.

The Irish actor has taken over the part made famous by Schwarzenegger in the new adaptation of Philip K. Dick's story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.

He appeared at Comic-Con in San Diego, California on Friday to discuss the Len Wiseman-directed film, and he is convinced movie fans will be impressed with the reboot.

Farrell says, "I didn't feel the need to fill those si...

The Adjustment Bureau
The trustees of Philip K. Dick's estate have re-launched their legal battle with the producers of Matt Damon thriller The Adjustment Bureau, two months after the initial lawsuit was dropped.

The late author's executors claim the estate is owed money from the 2011 adaptation of the writer's sci-fi story, Adjustment Team, and filed a lawsuit last year targeting director George Nolfi, producer Michael Hackett, Media Rights Capitol and its subsidiaries.

The case was dropped in February after a judge threw out key parts of the suit, but representatives of the Philip K. Dick Testamentary Trus...

Total Recall
If you are on the fence about whether a Total Recall remake is a good idea, perhaps the first full-length trailer could convince you that this is a film worth checking out.

The trailer sets up what we already know from the original: The main character Douglas Quaid (played by Colin Farrell this time around) is bored with his everyday life. When he learns about a service that implants memories, he thinks he has found a way to feel fulfilled - until a squad of troops begins shooting up the place.

In the trailer, we see Quaid "snap" and begin taking down the troops with lethality that surp...

Colin Farrell Gets A Career Do-Over

Colin Farrell
It’s rare in Hollywood for an actor to get a second chance at a career. The most recent example of a career rebirth is Mickey Rourke whose performance in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Wrestler” not only earned him an Oscar nomination, but gave him a new life as a serious and respected actor. In 1994, Quentin Tarantino pulled John Travolta out of the wreckage of his previously successful career and cast him in one of his most iconic roles as the hitman Vincent in “Pulp Fiction.”

Now, Colin Farrell is trying to re-start his career not as the star of mindless action movies (which he quickly became ...

Radical Retro Movie Review: 'Total Recall'

June 29th, 2010 2:19pm EDT

There are three key ingredients you can find in Paul Verhoeven’s best films: excessive violence, gratuitous nudity, and biting social commentary. All of these items can be found in “Total Recall” whose plot based on a short story by the late author Philip K. Dick. This film which turned 20 this month, melds Verhoeven’s style with Philip K. Dick’s ability to craft compelling fiction to create a movie that is equal parts sci-fi and action adventure.

Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Doug Quaid, a lowly construction worker having repeat dreams of life on the Mars colony. What’s strange is tha...

Best Space Movies

Moon
The subject of space is a difficult one in terms of selecting films. Qualifying elements are somewhat subjective. Does the film have to take place in space? Must it include aliens? Does a mere reference to space, or different planets, make it a "space" film? In short, is it merely a subgenre of science fiction? Space and science fiction, while not mutually exclusive, can occur without the other.

In celebration of the release of one of the newest and most promising space films, Moon, check out a brief list of our favorite space films. What you will find below is a mix of films t...

Just Like The Good Old Days On 'Prison Break'

Last night's episode of "Prison Break" was probably the most reminiscent of season 2's unpredictability and general awesomeness that we have seen all year. Folks, that says a lot. Self's betrayal has shaken things up in a major way, altering the relationships of most of the characters and institutions that we have come to know and love (or hate). Throw in a few double-crosses and a few more deaths, and we've got one heck of an episode.

Michael Rapaport, how could you?

The gang still can't believe that they were set up by agent Don Self (Michael Rapaport). While the rest of the...
