Prepare To Be Tempted: The 12 Best Portrayals Of The Devil In The Movies

January 30th, 2013 4:05pm EST
Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled
The Devil is always trying to tempt people to sell their souls, and when he comes in the form of Elizabeth Hurley, who starred as the prince, er, princess of darkness in the 2000 remake of Bedazzled the offer can sometimes be pretty enticing.

Resisting temptation can be pretty tough when it comes to the Devil, especially when he shows up himself, either to blackmail, influence, or just plain collect the souls of those he's won through his deals.

Movie depictions of the dark angel have ranged from serious to hilarious to downright chilling.

Here are our picks for the 12 best portrayals of...

Ben Stiller in Greenberg
When it comes to Ben Stiller’s comedic roles, he tends to play dimwitted characters that are either totally bumbling or overly self-assured. Most people do not realize, however, that Stiller can also convincingly portray serious characters as well as his silly ones.

In preparation for his new dramedy “Greenberg” about an unemployed New Yorker searching for a new direction in his life, check out Stiller’s three greatest serious roles and three comedic ones:

Ben Stiller is perfect as the spiritual leader Rabbi Jake Schram in this romantic dramedy. The best friend of Fa...

Rockin' and Reelin': Seven Spectacular Movie Concerts

July 7th, 2009 10:00am EDT
School of Rock
Pull out your lighter, turn up the volume, and get ready to throw up the horns. This jammin' compilation is my top seven compilation of climactic movie concerts. Why seven? Seven is a nice odd number.

When I first decided to form a list of top movie concerts, I thought having a wealth of film knowledge would help me out. Sitting down to draft the list however, I found myself at a loss for ideas. I couldn't see the forest for the trees, and plots sat jumbled together in my head.

After thinking for a few days and taking a stroll through my neighborhood Blockbuster's going out of bu...

The Sex Pistols star Johnny Rotten cancelled a cameo appearance in Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny after demanding "a million dollars" from producers.

Star Kyle Gass claims Rotten - real name John Lydon - made the demand just to be "outrageous", but he and co-star Jack Black called his bluff.

Gass says, "We were using him in part of our movie and at the last second he pulled out unless we gave him a million dollars or something stupid. He's just trying to be outrageous and he's run out of outrageous."

Funnyman Jack Black has banned his children from listening to his Tenacious D records until they are at least 13. The comedy rock group is currently filming a movie littered with plenty of their trademark profanities, and although Black has no problem condoning the watching of rated R films, he is not so happy for his first child Samuel Jason or any future kids to hear his unsavory musical offerings.

The star says, "They'll get to see it ... but I'm not going to let my kid hear any Tenacious D. Well, actually, we've got a couple of songs that are OK for kids but probably once they're ...

Jack Black dined on a grasshopper enchilada while filming his new movie, Nacho Libre. The 36 year-old (star of King Kong and Shark Tale) tried the exotic insect dish in Oaxaca, Mexico, where he is filming the Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling) movie.

Jack Black mused to comic book magazine Wizard, “Dude, I did have some grasshopper enchilada! Here’s the thing: It tastes good, but you’re not going to be able to not think about it because you’re eating it and, ‘Now, yes, I distinctly tasted a wing.’ Or, ‘Okay, that was an elbow joint of a bug. That was its skull. I just crushed its skull.”
