It's almost here. The Superbowl of Hollywood (a.k.a. The Academy Awards) will be held for its 80th run on February 24. With the announcement ceremony on January 22, I would like to take a moment to look at one of my favorite categories: Best Animated Feature.

In Evan Almighty, television anchorman-turned-U.S. congressman Evan Baxter (Steve Carell) relocates his family from Buffalo to Northern Virginia, and God (Morgan Freeman) reveals to him that a devastating flood is coming and the planet is about to be cleansed once again. Also on DVD: Surf's Up, 28 Weeks Later, Reign Over Me, and You Kill Me.

Brett Ratner's new movie Rush Hour 3 has raced to the top the U.K and Ireland box office. The action adventure, which stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, earned $5.46 million.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Summertime in Hollywood is not as hot as it looked at the beginning. While the three May blockbusters - Sony's ''Spider-Man 3,'' DreamWorks Animation's ''Shrek the Third'' and Disney's ''Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End'' - have combined for nearly $1 billion in domestic revenue, overall business and movie attendance are well below the record pace many show business types had expected.

''Evan Almighty,'' with Carell taking over for Carrey in a follow-up to the comedy smash ''Bruce Almighty,'' debuted a solid No. 1 with $32.1 million, though that was less than half the $68 million opening of its predecessor, according to studio estimates Sunday.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Hollywood's superhero foursome is still fantastic at the box office. The 20th Century Fox sequel ''Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer'' debuted as the No. 1 weekend flick with $57.4 million in sales, slightly surpassing the $56.1 million opening of ''Fantastic Four'' two years ago, according to studio estimates Sunday.
