'Stone' Leaves Several Concepts Unturned

October 14th, 2010 9:59pm EDT
Stone
Edward Norton is one of the most talented actors of his generation because he convincingly portrays a wide variety of characters. A similar statement could be made about Robert De Niro, who has played an equally diverse set of parts with great conviction. Based on the strength of both men's abilities it was a logical move to pair them together again on-screen in the drama "Stone." Their previous collaboration "The Score" proved that they work well as opposing forces.

Unfortunately for "Stone," the presence of powerhouse actors like Norton and De Niro is unable to rescue the film from its...

The Best & Worst Of Edward Norton

October 8th, 2010 12:00pm EDT
Stone-081110-0001.jpg
Edward Norton is an Academy Award nominated actor, but he is also an accomplished screenwriter and director. While he does not have the longest list of performers for an actor so well established and respected, it's all about how well he chooses the films that he does do. He is also well known for being an environmental activist and charity worker. This weekend the newest of his movies hits the theaters titled Stone, starring Norton, Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, and Milla Jovovich. It's about a prisoner (Norton) about to go up from a parole hearing and he's trying to manipulate and black...

Prison Inmates Rewrote Edward Norton's Dialogue in 'Stone'

Edward Norton always gives an intense, researched performance. To play a parole candidate in Stone, he didn’t have to make anything up. Meeting with actual inmates gave him the clues he needed to play the title role.

“The best thing that came out of getting in to talk to these guys was a sense of how they viewed the process of getting judged by other people,” Norton said while promoting the film at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX. “Apart from that, their language is fantastic. I would say 60% of the lines of Stone we changed based on the ways these guys articulate.”

Role models are one thing...

'Two Jews On Film' Review: De Niro & Norton In 'Stone' Worth The Price Of Admission (Video)

October 7th, 2010 10:38am EDT
Stone-081110-0001.jpg
"Stone" is the story of a seasoned corrections officer, Robert DeNiro and a volatile inmate, Edward Norton, who find their lives dangerously intertwined. The film skillfully weaves together the parallel journeys of these two men grappling with their dark impulses and inner beliefs. Watching these two actors work together is definitely worth the price of admission. Rounding out the cast is the always excellent Francis Conroy, DeNiro's long suffering wife and Milla Jovovich, giving a very raw, solid performance as Norton's seductive and slightly wacko spouse. Set against the stifling bruta...

Life as We Know It
If you have not been to the theater to see “The Social Network” you absolutely must check it out. David Fincher’s direction, Aaron Sorkin’s writing, and Trent Reznor’s score are all absolutely brilliant, making the film a serious Oscar competitor. Feel free to check out my review of “The Social Network” here if you haven’t already.

September 13th, 2010 8:47am EDT
Milla Jovovich
Tough sex scenes opposite Robert De Niro in new movie "Stone" left model-turned-actress Milla Jovovich in floods of tears because she felt so "violated."

The "Resident Evil" star admits her role as a manipulative convict's wife in the gritty movie was one of her biggest challenges - and she had to rely on husband, moviemaker Paul W.S. Anderson, to help her through the hard times.

She tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "(Character) Lucetta (is) definitely a tough character, with the nudity and the sexuality; especially to have to get intimate with people you've only met that day. It's ...

Milla Jovovich Looks A Little Severe

July 7th, 2010 4:00pm EDT
Milla Jovovich
We don't know whether it's the pulled back hair, her pale skin, the look in her eyes, or all of the above, but Milla Jovovich looked a little severe at the Chanel fashion show during fashion week in Paris yesterday.

The model/actress has vowed to keep her young daughter away from the spotlight, insisting child stars are "creepy." Milla began modeling at age 12 to make money for her "struggling" family, but she's adamant her two-year-old tot Ever Gabo won't be working in showbiz any time soon.

She told People, "She's not going to be a working child. For me it's kind of creepy, the whole ...
