Shark attack surfer Bethany Hamilton weds in Hawaii

Bethany Hamilton, the 23 year old whose shark attack story inspired the film Soul Surfer, has wed in Hawaii.

The pro-surfer, who lost her arm in the 2003 shark drama, wed Christian youth minister Adam Dirks on Saturday (17Aug13).

The couple met on the beach in 2012, and Dirks proposed earlier this year (Apr13).

Hamilton took to to share her excitement about her new husband, and wrote, "Today was the most beautiful, wonderful best day of my life! God is more than good. Excited to live life with my husband Adam Dirks!"

Actress Annasophia Robb has replaced Lucy Hale as the new face of U.S. clothing company Bongo.

The Soul Surfer beauty, who currently stars as fashion-obsessed Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries, has shot a series of ads for the brand's upcoming autumn (13) campaign.

The actress modelled a handful of looks, including plaid shirts and coloured denim, during the New York City shoot and she says, "What I like about this Bongo collection is that it feels very relatable and it feels trendy and tougher but also kind of flirty. It's really cute."

The shark attack victim whose uplifting story inspired the movie Soul Surfer has opened up about her wedding day dreams while posing for a bridal feature in the new issue of In Touch magazine.

Bethany Hamilton, 23, lost her left arm and 60 per cent of the blood in her body when she was attacked by a tiger shark off the coast of Kauai, Hawaii in 2003.

Her brave story of survival and her return to surfing became a bestseller that was adapted for the big screen.

Bethany Hamilton, the championship surfer who lost her arm to a shark, is set to wed.

Sharing the happy news on her blog, Hamilton reveals she knew her new fiance Adam Dirks was the man for her when he agreed to jump off a cliff into the ocean with her on their first date.

She writes, "The first thing we did was jump off a cliff together!" and adds, "I know Adam and I are right for each other and that God has us together for Him. Neither of us is perfect, but in my eyes Adam is just right and I'm thankful to have someone so perfectly perfect to share life with as one."

"Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" star AnnaSophia Robb has landed the coveted role of Carrie Bradshaw in a prequel to the "Sex And The City" TV series.

The young actress, who recently portrayed real-life surfing shark attack victim Bethany Hamilton in "Soul Surfer," joins Stefania Owen among the cast of the new high school drama, "The Carrie Diaries," which is set in the 1980s.

"Sex And The City" creator Candace Bushnell will be one of the show's executive producers.

One-armed surfer Bethany Hamilton made actress Helen Hunt feel inadequate when they first hit the waves together in Hawaii - by riding in backwards.

Hunt plays Hamilton's mom in the upcoming biopic "Soul Surfer" and admits she thought she was a good surfer until she paddled out with the shark-bite victim.
