Jason Bateman: Greatest Career Resurrection Ever?

July 7th, 2011 3:00pm EDT
jason bateman

After a career-boosting (heck, career-reviving) role on Fox’s short-lived sitcom “Arrested Development,” Bateman has become ubiquitous in Hollywood comedies and pretty much synonymous with the passive-aggressive straight man character. This weekend, his new movie “Horrible Bosses” opens nationwide co-starring Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey. The cast, which mi...

A star was born in Southeast Washington, D.C. on September 11, 1970 and her name is Taraji Penda Henson, otherwise known as Taraji P. Henson. The first name Taraji means "hope" and the middle name Penda means "love," both being of Swahili origin.

May 9th, 2009 10:41am EDT
Star Trek
The reviews for Star Trek have been mostly positive, so it's okay to assume the sequel that Paramount gave the go ahead to a few weeks ago is going to happen. Here's a quick look at the "cast of unknowns" who actually have a lot of acting credits between them.

Chris Pine starred opposite Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries 2

and Lindsay pre-rehab trips Lohan in Just My Luck. He was nearly unrecognizable in Smokin' Aces, but his least hated project was probably the little seen Bottle Shock.

After a few the less said the better television show appearances, Zachary Quinto joined ...

Supporting Superhero: A Look At The Stand-Out Film Roles Of Jason Bateman

July 1st, 2008 10:11am EDT
Jason Bateman
In the early part of his career, Jason Bateman was known as the cute sandy haired boy from the wholesome TV family. Beginning with Little House on the Prairie and taking it through "Silver Spoons" (where as the best friend he became part of the extended family) and "Valerie," he wore that role like it was his own skin. Only as he aged (like with 2001's "Some Of My Best Friends" and later with the critically acclaimed "Arrested Development") did he start to include sarcasm into his portrayals, opening up a world of possibilities for him to steal scenes in a number of feature films.

Journeyman Film Is The Perfect Pit Stop For Talented Traveling Actors

March 27th, 2008 10:47am EDT
Who
This weekend, there will be a movie released in the shadow of 21 and Run Fat Boy Run. It's been making its way across movie festivals for almost a year, picking up a couple of wins for "Best Here" and "Viewers Choice" there, and drawing some attention along the way. It's this way that filmmakers get their start, that actors get noticed, and that writers earn their stripes. It is a true independent film, normally for film school geeks with something to prove or French people. But now it's gained some theatrical distribution, and it may be outstretching its bounds.

Low budget, gritty and...
