31 Days Of Horror: 'Saw' (2004)
Ever since Saw came out way back in 2004, I’ve heard nothing but belly aching from movie-goers and horror-goons alike over how the movie ushered in a new era of gore-porn. That because of Saw, as well as Hostel, its pseudo sister-movie, all horror movies started to forgo any attempt at story telling in favor of graphic depictions of peoples’ heads getting shoved into bear-traps or corn threshers. I also recall it being quite buzzed about before its release, only to be met with cold to tepid reviews upon its actual release. So, keeping its reputation in mind, I skipped past watching Saw, Saw...
READ MORESpain Drops X-Rating On 'Saw VI'
Horror movie "Saw VI" will finally be released in Spain this October after producers cut several of the gory sequel's most violent scenes to secure a more universal rating in the country.
The sixth installment of the popular franchise was slapped with an X rating by Spanish film censors last year, meaning it could only be shown in theatres which allowed porn.
Its release in Spain was postponed and "Saw VI's" producers went back to the cutting room to re-edit the release.
They have now adhered to the rules set out by officials at the film institute, a unit of the culture ministry, who dem...

20 Years Later: New Kids On The Block
It's hard to imagine that it's been 20 years since I wore my New Kids On The Block t-shirt holding a pink and black pocket rocker, which was playing "Hanging Tough" of course, in one hand and a sign saying "I hart you Jordan! Merry me!" in the other. Yes, I spelled it that way I was five years old. Even back then I was able to "get on the floor and do the new kids dance" at the outdoor venue in Tinley Park for my very first concert to see the best boyband EVER!
For those who don't remember or weren't born yet, New Kids on the Block was one of the most popular boybands to hit the music ...

'Saw' Star's Son Has Ironic Halloween Costume
Saw IV villain Tobin Bell's creepy movie puppet sidekick Billy is such a hit in his household, the actor's young son will hit the streets at Halloween dressed like him. Bell will join his kid for Wednesday's frightfest.
He tells Movies.com, "My son and a few of his friends will be wearing Billy masks. I guess he's really popular. Last Halloween, I saw a lot of kids dressed like Billy. I always go over and say hello to them, which leaves them somewhat speechless. I guess they recognize my voice as Jigsaw's. One of the kids in the Billy costume looked about 10 and he said, ' saw Saw 3 a...

Mark Burg Plans To Remake 1981 Horror Classic 'Scanners'
Yesterday at Comic-Con during Spike TV's panel discussion hosted by Henry Rollins, Saw franchise producer Mark Burg announced that he would be collaborating with Darren Lynn Bousman, director of Saw II, III, & IV, to remake David Cronenberg's 1981 horror classic, Scanners.
The title of Cronenberg's sci-fi horror film refers to a group of people who have telekinetic powers that allow them to read minds and give them the ability to make other people's heads explode. The children of a group of women who took an experimental tranquilizer during their pregnancies, the scanners are now adult...

T.I. Blasts Double Standards For Hip-Hop
Rapper T.I. has accused those calling for hip-hop lyrics to be censured of having double standards because they're not looking into other areas of the entertainment industry.
The star cites the example of director Martin Scorsese's violent, expletive-filled Oscar winner The Departed, which is attracting no criticism.
He tells MTV News, "Ain't nobody bring Martin Scorsese up for The Departed. He won a Oscar. In the movie, they threw a white man out a window, shot so many people. Ain't nobody bringing this up because it's artistically very creative. Everybody... enjoyed it. Look a...
