October 11th, 2006 9:26am EDT
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston has blasted Hollywood scriptwriters for being too sexist when writing comedy, after failing to find film roles that allow her to show her funny side to the full. Since the hit series Friends ended in 2004, Aniston has featured in several romantic comedies, including Rumor Has It and Bruce Almighty, in which she appeared alongside Jim Carrey.

But she insists male actors still have the pick of the drollest roles, while actresses have to put up with what they can get. She says, "There is just not a lot out there. It's hard because those comedies with male leads are such ...

Jennifer Aniston was left speechless when an insensitive foreign journalist asked her about her worst break-up experience. The actress is currently starring in The Break-Up and feared members of the media would latch on to the movie's theme in their line of questioning in the wake of her very public divorce from Brad Pitt.

She says, "When we do our press junkets they always want the catch phrase. When it was Rumor Has It, it was like, 'Well, so what rumors have been said about you?' So then of course you're thinking, 'Oh, God, The Break-Up. It's like, 'What are they going to come up w...

Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston has slammed her critically mauled movie Rumor Has It as "the worst experience of my life," insisting personal problems and a poor script left her "unmotivated" and miserable on set. Her first foray into acting since her break up with husband Brad Pitt, the film only grossed $43 million at the box office and left Aniston wishing she had never signed up.

The movie pits the star as a woman who discovers her family inspired "The Graduate," Charles Webb's hit novel which subsequently became a movie classic. But despite being intrigued by the concept, Aniston was left bitt...

Shirley MacLaine
Movie veteran Shirley MacLaine has hit out at her younger co-stars in recent movies In Her Shoes and Rumor Has It for being too self-obsessed to take advantage of her advice and experience. The actress was bursting to share stories with Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman - but claims they only wanted to talk about themselves.

She says, "Cameron used to spend the first hour of the rehearsal period talking about the problems she had getting out of her house and avoiding the photographers outside. Nicole Kidman, who I adore, asked me questions about longevity ...
