Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis Break-Up Rumor Gains Momentum

Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp has secretly split from longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, according to reports.

The actor began dating French singer Paradis in 1998, and they set up home in the south of France with their two children, Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, 9.

But a new People magazine article suggests Depp's huge success has caused tension in the relationship amid speculation the couple is now leading separate lives.

A source tells the publication, "Vanessa went seven years between albums, and several years between film projects, while he became Captain Jack Sparrow (from Pirates of the Caribbean)."

Brad Pitt in Moneyball
Brad Pitt has been named the "Top Money-Making Star of 2011," according to an annual survey of movie theatre owners.

Bosses at Quigley Publishing Company have asked theatre owners and film buyers to vote for their top 10 box office generators, and this year exhibitors credited Pitt with bringing in more traffic than any other celebrity due to his acting and/or vocal appearances in "Moneyball," "The Tree of Life," and "Happy Feet Two."

Coming in at number two was Pitt's pal George Clooney for both "The Ides of March" and "The Descendants," and last year's winner, Johnny Depp, fell to third...

Amber Heard Slams Closeted Gay Stars

Amber Heard
Openly gay actress Amber Heard recently criticized stars who refuse to "come out" and admit their true sexuality.

She told Women's Health magazine, "You can't respect yourself if you're afraid to be who you are. It requires bravery to do something no one else around you is doing. But the risk was outweighed by the possibility of playing into this horribly detrimental lie that some in Hollywood perpetuate."

Amber came out publicly at last year's Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation 25th anniversary celebration when she arrived hand-in-hand with her partner, photographer Tasya van R...

Rounding out the top five were new "Footloose" remake ($5.4 million) and Johnny Depp's "The Rum Diary" with $5 million.

Review: 'The Rum Diary' A Lackadaisical Booze Cruise

10/29/2011 12:00pm EDT
I left the screening of The Rum Diary feeling as if the pacific ocean itself had washed over me. There was a warmth in my belly, and this sort of slack smile on my face as I pondered what I would write about this film. My feelings are mixed. I'm wholly aware that as a film, with character arcs and a plot and a message, it sort of falls a bit flat. But as an experience, well, it's a different story.

The Rum Diary follows the many Caribbean adventures of Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp). Depp channels the snappish cadence and befuddled eyebrows of his Fear and Loathing in Las Vegasperformance, but di...

Was Johnny Depp 'Absolutely Wasted' At NYC 'Rum Diary' Premiere?

Johnny Depp wasted at Rum Diary premiere
Johnny Depp stunned fans at the New York premiere of his new movie "The Rum Diary" on Tuesday when he appeared unsteady on his feet and had to rely on a bodyguard to literally carry him from the red carpet.

The Hollywood star portrays a boozing 'gonzo journalist' in the film and life seemed to imitate art in the Big Apple this week when Depp arrived at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) to promote the movie, which is based on the late Hunter S. Thompson book of the same name.

One of Depp's security members had to give the actor a helping hand as soon as he pulled up to the venue in his car, ...

The Rum Diary - In Time - Puss In Boots
Despite Halloween’s rapid approach, there’s a surprising lack of horror movies hitting theaters this week. You’ll have the chance to see the wacky Johnny Depp romp “The Rum Diary,” the science fiction thriller “In Time,” the Shrek spinoff “Puss In Boots,” the Roland Emmerich period piece “Anonymous,” the romantic drama “Like Crazy,” the darkly erotic tale “Sleeping Beauty,” and the inspirational story “Janie Jones.”

During the 1950s, American journalist Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) accepts a freelance post in Puerto Rico for a loca...

Johnny Depp & 'Rum Diary' Director Bruce Robinson Paid Tribute To Hunter S. Thompson With Scotch

10/17/2011 9:30pm EDT
Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp and director Bruce Robinson paid homage to late Hunter S. Thompson on the set of new film The Rum Diary daily by placing a bottle of the writer's favorite scotch and a pack of cigarettes on an empty chair.

Both felt the late 'gonzo journalist' who wrote the book the film was based on was there with them in spirit - and they celebrated the man, who was a close friend of Depp's, with a morning ritual.

Robinson tells WENN, "We had Hunter's chair with a script and Dunhill cigarettes and a bottle of Chivas Regal every morning before we started work. Johnny and I would stick our fin...

The Ides of March

This weekend has an interesting match-up for the box office: George Clooney’s “The Ides of March,” a sure Oscar contender, vs. “Real Steel,” a robot boxing film starring Hugh Jackman. In “Ides,” Clooney, who directed and co-wrote the screenplay, stars as a promising presidential candidate whose young, idealistic aid (Ryan Gosling) sees the dark underbelly of what political campaigns are really about. Expect amazing performances from the entire cast which also includes Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Maris Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood.
