The star, who will feature in summer blockbuster Transformers and has just been confirmed as Indiana Jones' new sidekick, toppled comedy Blades of Glory's two-week reign on top with an opening weekend take of $23 million. Eddie Griffin and Nathan Phillips put the pedal to the metal in stunt coordinator-turned-director Andy Cheng's supercharged auto thriller. In addition to featuring a score (and cameo) by hip-hop icon Wyclef Jean, Redline was produced by real-estate developer-turned-producer Daniel Sedak - who not only financed the 26 million dollar film, but also donated his personal car collection to the production. Eddie Griffin's Wrecked Ferrari To Be Displayed
The Enzo Ferrari sportscar Eddie Griffin wrecked during a recent charity race will be on show when the funnyman launches his new action movie Redline on Thursday. The star was taking part in a race at the Irwindale Speedway in California last month when he lost control of a pal's prized possession and crashed into a wall.
Griffin and the $1.2 million car's owner, a producer of Redline, have denied reports the car crash was a publicity stunt for the film, but now they're using the wreckage to promote the movie.
