Is Adam Sandler Still A Box Office Draw?

July 29th, 2009 9:55am EDT
Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler has been delighting (and annoying) audiences for about 20 years, although in the beginning he was just that guy who did odd voices on "Saturday Night Live." Despite seeming like just a goof, Sandler quickly proved to be a smart business investor, having written and produced several of his most successful films and creating Happy Madison Productions.

Most of Sandler's films in the past 10 years have been out of his own production company, with a few exceptions. Forbes recently named him one of the highest-paid men in hollywood. Anyone who writes this actor off as just a sill...

Review: Synecdoche New York

When given the right script Sander has proven time after time that he has true acting ability (see numbers 1, 3 and 5), and the intrigue ...

April 17th, 2008 8:00am EDT
Clueless
There's the quintessential romantic comedy, and then there's the romdramedy. Similar to a dramedy (in which there is an equal balance of humor and serious content), a romdramedy combines comedy and drama with that mushy thing we call romance.

This is not a list of the best films over the past 20 years. Rather it is a list that gives preferences to those films that best combine all three elements - romance, comedy and drama.

Films like Magnolia and The Matrix were barred from competition, while films like Down with Love were considered (however, that one didn't make the cut)....
