Two Jews On Their Top Ten Films Of 2012

January 6th, 2013 10:55pm EST
Life of Pi
2012 was a great year for films - studio films as well as Indy titles all scored big.

From the exquisite writing, directing, special effects, I found myself laughing hysterically from a foul mouth, over-sexed pot smoking bear, to a bunch of folks freaking out at the prospect of turning 40.

We had cutting edge performances from Matthew McConaughey ('Killer Joe' & 'The Paper Boy), Nicole Kidman ('The Paper Boy'), John Hawkes and Helen Hunt ('The Sessions') as well as Daniel Day Lewis ('Lincoln') Anthony Hopkins (Hitchcock) and the whole cast of 'Django Unchained'.

As usual, John and I didn...

Emma Watson Inexplicably Pairs A Little Black Dress With Pants At U.K. 'Wallflower' Premiere

September 27th, 2012 8:36am EDT
Emma Watson
Heralded as a fashionable young star, the normally put-together Emma Watson chose an unusual ensemble to wear at "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" premiere in London on Wednesday.

Watson wore a black Dior dress over a pair of black pants. The strapless dress by itself would have been a very cute look for the 22-year-old star. So why did she decide to add a pair of trousers underneath it?

The actress wore black stilettos and a delicate silver key necklace with the outfit. Her reddish brown hair has grown out of its pixie cut and was styled with gentle curls.

The film centers on a withdraw...

Weekend Movie Preview: ‘Dredd 3D,’ ‘End of Watch,’ ‘Trouble with the Curve’ & More

September 21st, 2012 12:00pm EDT
Dredd 3D Poster
The perils of law enforcement is a major theme at the box office this week with the release of “Dredd 3D” and “End of Watch.” Although they are two very different types of movies about cops, both are immensely enjoyable in their own ways. That’s why they’re my picks for this week. Also arriving in theaters are “Trouble with the Curve,” “House at the End of the Street,” and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.”

MY PICK: “Dredd 3D” and “End of Watch”

DREDD 3D

Much of America in the future has become a wasteland. Stretching from Boston to Washington DC is Mega City One, a sprawling vio...

Review: 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' A Beautiful, Moving, Must See Film For Anyone Who Has Felt Like An Outsider

September 19th, 2012 1:40pm EDT
'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower'
Some critics, especially those who have majored in journalism, take great pride in dissecting a film. The story, structure, characters, they doing their best to impress us with their knowledge about what works and what doesn't.

I am definitely not that kind of critic. All I do is share my subjective, emotional reaction to a film and sometimes, call my husband, John, an idiot if he doesn't see it my way.

With that said, I will now share my emotional reaction to...'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' ...I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. IT'S OUTSTANDING...A PERFECT FILM and... So far, my favorite film of...

Emma Watson Shows Some Sideboob At 'Wallflower' Premiere

September 14th, 2012 9:38am EDT
Emma Watson
Emma Watson attended "The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" premiere at the Crosby Street Hotel in Soho, New York City, last night looking stunning in a white, one-sleeved minidress.

The 22-year-old actress revealed a little sideboob and showed off her lean legs in the ensemble, which she paired with white pumps and an oversized ring on her left hand.

Earlier this week Watson had a slightly embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while promoting the film in Hollywood. Her dress slipped down and one of her "nipple daisies" was revealed. At least she had the sense to use the nipple-covering accessory!...

Emma Watson Looks Sleek & Sophisticated At 'Wallflower' Premiere

September 11th, 2012 8:19am EDT
Emma Watson
Emma Watson attended the "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" Los Angeles Premiere yesterday wearing a lace dress that uncanningly matched her pale skin tone.

The actress slicked back her short hair and skipped accessories. She painted her lips red.

Her new film centers on a withdrawn teen (Logan Lerman) who attempts to remain hopeful for the future while dreading every day of the present.

At the movie's Toronto premiere, Watson admitted she cried several times. "This is, like, the third time I've seen the movie and it still makes me cry. I had to run out and try and fix my face for the Q...

Emma Watson's Movie 'Perks Of Being A Wallflower' Wins Rating Appeal

March 9th, 2012 1:54pm EST
Emma Watson
Producers behind Emma Watson's new film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower have won an appeal to have the film's restrictive 'R' rating overturned.

The picture, which stars Watson, Paul Rudd and Logan Lerman in the tale of a troubled high school student was initially rated 'R' by censors at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), due to its depiction of teenage drug and alcohol use.

The rating meant kids under 17 would have to be accompanied by an adult and executives at Summit Entertainment, the production company behind the film, appealed against the decision.

Bosses at the M...
