The Ten Worst Movies Of 2013

December 24th, 2013 12:00pm EST
Getaway
What makes a bad film? Factors such as poor ticket sales, bad acting, lousy scripts, and negative reviews. And if you've never even heard of the movie, than you know it's really bad.

Some of these films actually had decent box office results, but that doesn't mean they were good films. It just means a bunch of people got suckered into watching movies they thought would be entertaining but ended up being lousy.

"Getaway" (above) starred Selena Gomez, one of today's hottest young female singers and actresses. But her star power couldn't save the film.

The movie centered on Brent (Ethan Haw...

'The Fifth Estate' Tops List Of Worst Films Of 2013

November 27th, 2013 8:00pm EST
The Fifth Estate
Forbes recently compiled a list of 2013 film flops, and Wikileaks drama "The Fifth Estate" came in at number one. The film, which opened in October, made just $6 million globally, earning just 21 percent of its $28 million budget.

"The Fifth Estate" stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and centers on the controversial whistleblowing website. Assange publicly opposed the project and predicted it would fail miserably.

The second worst film of the year is Sylvester Stallone's "Bullet To The Head" ($9.4 million) about a New Orleans hitman and Washington D.C. detectiv...

Review: 'Parker' Peters Out

January 27th, 2013 7:02pm EST
He's still Statham from the Block
The pulpy, B-movie thriller Parker is a curious choice for Director Taylor Hackford. Hackford is probably most known as the man behind An Officer and a Gentleman, Ray, Everybody’s All American, The chilling Dolores Claiborne, and one of my all-time favorite guilty pleasure movies, The Devil’s Advocate. Those movies, while varying quite wildly in terms of quality and subject matter, are almost entirely focused on human (or non-human) interpersonal drama and conflict - which is something Hackford traditionally does well. Even in a rightfully maligned film like the aforementioned Devils Advoca...

Review: 'Parker' A Pissed Off Thief Out For Vengeance (Video)

January 25th, 2013 2:02pm EST
Parker
Parker (Jason Statham) is a thief and one of the best around.  But he's not just a thief; he's a thief with a code. Do what you say… If you don't… there will be consequences.

Parker demands absolute loyalty and strict adherence to the plan from his crew.  Unfortunately that's not what he gets from fellow thieves, Melander (Michael Chiklis), Carlson (Wendell Pierce) and Ross (Clifton Collins, Jr.).

'Parker' directed by Academy Award nominee Taylor Hackford ('Ray'), starts out with a daring robbery at the Ohio State Fair that doesn't go so well.  Thanks to the recklessness of one of his men...

Jennifer Lopez attended the premiere of "Parker" at The MoMa in New York City on Wednesday. The actress looked amazing in a strapless white peplum Lanvin dress with matching pumps.

The film centers on the unlikely alliance between a woman and a thief who plans to hijack the score of his former crew's latest heist. Lopez told HollywoodLife.com she decided to do the film since it seemed like a "crazy, twisty, turny action...

Jennifer Lopez Struggled With Marc Anthony Split On 'Parker' Set

January 18th, 2013 5:38am EST
Parker
Jennifer Lopez's split from husband Marc Anthony took its toll on the set of new action movie Parker - she was so depressed there were mornings she couldn't function or raise a smile.

The couple separated in July, 2011 after seven years of marriage, and Lopez admits she didn't have time to mourn the break-up because she was preparing to face off with Jason Statham in the new crime thriller, which started shooting a month later.

In the film, the On the Floor hit-maker plays a real estate agent ironically recovering from a divorce, and while Lopez had no trouble relating to her character,...
