Kristen Stewart Would Have Done Whatever It Took To Land A Role In 'On The Road'

January 4th, 2013 4:08pm EST
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart brings some vampy sexiness to the cover of V Magazine's Spring Preview 2013 issue -- or is that sexy vampiness?

Either way, the star of the adaptation of Jack Kerouac's beat novel On the Road (out in limited release since Dec. 21) looks more Twilight than wild teen in the 10-page spread.

Kristen discusses her latest role and the responsibility she had in bringing her character, Marylou, to life on screen; and she also says that the photoshoot itself was an experience that surprised her.

"[Filming On the Road has] been a f---ing amazing experience," she says. "I would have...

Moviemaker Walter Salles is working on a new documentary about the many efforts to adapt Jack Kerouac's On The Road for the big screen.

The director has succeeded where many have failed before him and now he's eager to tell the story of the novel's long, drawn-out journey to the big screen.

He tells WENN, "There were many attempts to make the film, the first by Kerouac himself, who wrote to Marlon Brando asking him if he would be interested in playing Dean Moriarty."

"When the invitation to pursue this film after the screening of The Motorcycle Diaries at Sundance (Film Festival) came ...

Kristen Stewart On Her Edgy 'Twilight' Follow-Up 'On The Road'

December 23rd, 2012 2:00pm EST
Kristen Stewart On The Road
Kristen Stewart’s new movie is also based on a book that was highly influential on a generation. This is not Twilight though. On the Road is based on the Jack Kerouac book from 1957. The film version is rated R, for scenes of sex and drug use, in both of which Stewart’s character partakes. It’s all in the book though, which Stewart read in her early teens.

“I think the actual law is if you are with a parent you can go and see an R-rated movie, if you're over the age of 13,” Stewart said. “I guess it depends on who your parents are, who you are. I read On the Road when I was 14, so I don't...

Les Miserables & On THe Road
You often hear that the book is better than the film, and that may or may not be the case for two highly anticipated upcoming films: "Les Miserables" and "On The Road."

Adapted from the acclaimed Broadway musical, Victor Hugo's classic novel "Les Miserables" is brought to the big screen and stars Hugh Jackman as escaped convict Jean Valjean. Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, and Sacha Baron Cohen also star.

Kristen Stewart attended the "On the Road" screening at AFI Fest in Los Angeles, Calif., over the weekend. She wore a white belly-baring blouse with spagetti straps and high-waisted pants. She painted her fingernails black and wore smoky eye make-up.

The actress appeared to be in good spirts after a rough couple of months. She and her "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson seem to have rekindled their romance after the actress admitted publicly over the summer she had an affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders. Kristen Stewart Is 'Really Proud' Of Topless Scene In 'On The Road'

June 1st, 2012 12:30pm EDT
Kristen Stewart
At 21, Kristen Stewart is a bit of a rebel. She flips the bird at red carpet events, keeps tight lipped about her relationship with "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson, wears whatever she wants and generally doesn't pander to Hollywood's standards of how to act in public.

She's also going topless on the big screen - something many ladies refuse to do.

The actress has shed her clothes for new movie "On The Road." She shared her thoughts with E! Online: "I can't say it's not a little bit jarring, but it's jarring in the right way. I wanted it to be. I'm really proud of it."

The young actre...

Kristen Stewart Accepted An 'On The Road' Pay Cut

May 10th, 2012 11:45am EDT
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart was so passionate about starring in the big screen adaptation of On The Road, she agreed to a massive pay cut when the movie's budget was slashed.

The actress commanded millions for each installment of the Twilight franchise, but she trimmed her fee to less than $200,000 to portray Marylou in the film version of Jack Kerouac's classic novel.

Stewart was forced to make the sacrifice after bosses at French financier Pathe cut the budget from $35 million to the mid-$20 million range, and insists she was committed to playing the free-spirited character.

She tells The Holly...
