Jane Fonda will always treasure a fond memory of her On Golden Pond co-star Katharine Hepburn's competitive streak after the late movie icon picked up her fourth Oscar.

Despite famously telling reporters she wasn't interested in accolades, Hepburn made it clear to her young co-star that she did.

It's hard to believe for many of us the 1982 was 30 years ago. In that year, Ronald Reagan was President, Joe Montana was the Superbowl XVI MVP and the space shuttle Columbia made its first mission.

In movies, E.T., Tootsie and Gandhi ruled the box office while Chariots of Fire took best picture at the Academy Awards that year. Also taking home Oscar gold for best actor and actress in 1982 respectively were Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda for On Golden Pond. In music Michael Jackson released Thriller which sold more than 25 million copies, becoming the biggest selling album in history.

Barbarella legend Jane Fonda has never considered herself a sex symbol, insisting she has worked hard to be taken seriously as an actress.
