May 6th, 2011 8:30am EDT
George Clooney
“It's not about an opening weekend,” George Clooney once mused. “It's about a career, building a set of films you're proud of. Period.” 50 years into his life, mission accomplished. ...And a whole lot more besides.

In so many ways he’s above Hollywood - the tabloid scandals, the Botox, the surface nothingness. For all Clooney’s partying, good looks and joking around, there’s no hiding the fact he’s a proper grown up. The man has de...

Catherine Zeta-Jones
In 1969 Richard Nixon became president, the "Miracle" Mets won the World Series, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin took the very first lunar stroll, and Led Zeppelin's debut album was released. In addition to these historic events, 1969 was also the birth year of several Hollywood A-listers, including Jennifer Aniston, Renee Zellweger, Cate Blanchett, and this month's birthday girl, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

While there are plenty of reasons to venerate the year 1969, there is one catch to having it be your birth year. And that would be that the time has now come to bid your 30s adieu and face ...

'Idol' Recap: Matt Gets The Boot & Kris Could Steal The Win From Adam

April 30th, 2009 8:52am EDT
American Idol
Simon Cowell started the American Idol results show by saying how great everyone was and how wide open the competition is this year. He couldn't be more correct. That's why we saw Adam, the favorite all year, nearly exit the stage while the previously ousted Matt Giraud (who I've been calling the most talented competitor all year) got the cruelest boot.

In fact, there were two favorites in the bottom three this week. Probably the two most likely to win the entire competition had to sweat the longest last night. And at this point, it wasn't that much of surprise with the depth remai...
