| Passable. "Obsessed" is clearly head & shoulders above "Swimfan" (2002). This movie won't win any awards, but it's got plenty of bite and intrigue to prevent the advanced moviegoer from falling asleep. "Obsessed" offers nothing new/original in the plot department, but it does earn its PG-13 rating: The language is salty. Ali Larter (stunning), Idris Elba and Beyonce Knowles deliver solid performances; it's too bad that the material is limited. Bruce McGill and Jerry O'Connell provide sparks in supporting roles. My two female friends enjoyed it far more than I did. If "Swimfan" is one of your guilty pleasures, then, don't miss it. WARNING: Chicks outnumbered the men by a sizeable margin in each screening that I peeked in on. | ||
