Nicolas Cage Beleaguered By IRS Again

April 15th, 2011 4:46pm EDT
Nicolas Cage
Actor Nicolas Cage has been targeted by the International Revenue Service (IRS) again for failing to pay taxes on gifts he issued over the last seven years.

The IRS filed a federal tax lien against the National Treasure star on March 17th in Los Angeles for neglecting to pay the required 35 per cent tax on all large gifts. The document, obtained by TMZ.com, reveals Cage gave away roughly $1.8 million worth of gifts since 2004 and reportedly owes the government just over $600,000 in unpaid taxes.

This Week's Movie Buzz: See It, Rent It, Or Skip It?

July 20th, 2009 9:27am EDT
The Ugly Truth
Last Tuesday I had the opportunity to catch "Dead Snow" on Demand, and it was everything I hoped it would be. To enjoy the film though you truly need to suspend your disbelief, because if Nazi zombies are not enough, there are tons of really ridiculous, impossible events that occur.

This self-aware horror film makes many hilarious references both directly and indirectly to other movies of the genre. Characters are incredibly cliché and the dialogue is woefully written, but it is an action packed gore-fest featuring some of the most delightfully brutal horror movie deaths.

Comedies d...

Top 5 Nicolas Cage Movies - Do You Agree?

July 6th, 2009 8:25am EDT
Nicolas Cage
Tomorrow Nicolas Cage's latest movie Knowing will be released on DVD. When you sit down to watch a Cage movie you're at worst getting an enjoyable movie, as best, you're getting an Oscar-worthy film. Yes, we're saying it - Nicolas Cage does not make bad movies, which is something that can be said of very few in Hollywood.

Part of the reason why his films aren't groan worthy is because Cage has the gift of being able to weed out bad scripts exceptionally well. Plus Cage is able to transform a halfway decent script into a greatly enjoyable movie.

Check out our list of truly great an...

'Angels & Demons' Is A Complete Mess

May 18th, 2009 2:41pm EDT
Angels and Demons
Dan Brown's novels have a single extraordinary trick to them that play out in both film adaptations, "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons." Essentially, the movies (and books, respectively) are tours of Europe's most famous landmarks given at break-neck speed and cloaked in a cheesy dinner murder mystery that gives them an edge most museum or Vatican tours don't have. In that context, "Angels & Demons" is a success. In all others however, it fails miserably.

Langdon is a symbolism professor called upon by the Vatican to unravel the symbols that point to the location of four card...

Hitman
With every surplus of holiday cheer comes a few Scrooges. Some can't stand all the mushiness, or perhaps they just want to have something blow up to go along with their eggnog. Maybe they just like to sit on the edge of their seats instead of on Santa's lap. Fair enough.

For those people, there have been a few real holiday film gems over the years. Some are disturbing, such as Santa going on a killing spree. Others are entertaining, like Die Hard's Christmas party gone awry.

Part Three - Bah Humbug- Action/Drama/Adventure

But many don't have any holiday thematic link at all,...
