Check Out The First Trailer For ABC's New Muppets Sitcom!

5/13/2015 11:48am EDT
The Muppets
The Muppets are set to return to television this fall and ABC just released the first trailer.

The half-hour series will be done in a more documentary/reality style, and upon first look all we can think of is The Office -- which means this could be good.

The show is aimed at a more grown-up audience -- namely those who grew up on the original Muppet Show during the late 1970s.

This time around we get to see the characters' personal lives and more behind-the-scenes moments -- like when Rowlf the dog shows up after surgery with the classic "lampshade" collar and says if it weren't for that...

Kermit The Frog joined the ALS Ice Bucket Challeng on Wednesday, posting his video to YouTube.

The "Muppets Most Wanted" star took the challenge in a "hot, sticky swamp" and told viewers that despite his willingness to support the cause, dumping ice cold water on himself could have some serious side effects.

"I am ready to accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from [World Wrestling Entertainment CEO] Vince McMahon -- in which, by the way, he referred to me as a pesky amphibian," Kermit says in his video.

"To which, I reply, 'Oh yeah?!'

"Being an amphibian, it turns out that evidently gett...

Jimmy Fallon and the Muppets
Jimmy Fallon wrapped his final show as host of "Late Night" Friday with a musical number featuring The Muppets.

The host, who will take over for Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" next week, got behind the drums to play a rendition of The Band's classic "The Weight," which was a perfect sendoff.

Wasting no time with the transition, Fallon got up from behind the kit at the end of the song, walked off stage and down the hall, opening the door at the end where his new show, "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," awaited its host.

At the beginning of Fallon's final show in the late night slot, he...

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has turned down the chance to play actor Jason Segel's mom on hit TV comedy How I Met Your Mother.

Grohl vehemently denied the allegations, branding Love's comments "another hateful Twitter rant," and the blonde star has now hit back by accusing her adversary of staining Cobain's legacy by letting Smells...

Bret McKenzie: 'Oscars Bosses Have Made A Big Mistake By Axing Songs'

2/9/2012 8:44pm EST
Bret McKenzie
Oscar nominee Bret McKenzie has urged Academy Awards bosses to reinstate the Best Song performances for next year - because he's sure the telecast will be a little boring without a musical number or two.

Officials have dropped the traditional performances of the Best Song nominees for 2012, which means the comedian and actor won't get the chance to croon his "Man or Muppet" tune at the big awards show - and he thinks that'll prove to be a big mistake.

He tells Fandango, "It's disappointing... It's a shame... but I'm not complaining because I still get to go to the Oscars... It would be fu...

12/12/2011 8:49am EST
New Year's Eve
Star-studded romantic comedy "New Year's Eve" has crawled to the top of the box office chart in the slowest weekend of ticket sales in three years.

The movie, starring Robert De Niro, Halle Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl, grossed a weak $13.7 million in its opening weekend - a stark contrast to director Garry Marshall's last hit, 2010's "Valentine's Day," which also featured an ensemble cast and debuted with a healthy $56.3 million.

Jonah Hill's new funny film "The Sitter" opened in second with a lacklustre $10 million.

In 17 days since its release in the U.S., the film has grossed an impressive $247.3 million domestically.

"The Muppets" came in second with $11.2 million.

Review: Bobin And Segel Do Justice with 'The Muppets'

11/27/2011 9:33pm EST
Muppets 1
Disclaimer: I normally don't write reviews in the first person. Given my lifelong appreciation for the Muppets though, I felt my opinion wouldn't carry the same weight otherwise.

Growing up in the late 80s/early 90s, I watched Jim Henson's Muppets in all their wonderful forms: “Sesame Street,” “Fraggle Rock,” “Muppet Babies,” and reruns of “The Muppet Show.” Like other children my age, I was drawn to Kermit the Frog and his friends because of their vivid imagination, unflinching optimism, and ability to express themselves through entertaining songs.

As I got older, I kept watching the Mup...

Flight of the Conchords
HBO would have produced more episodes of Flight of the Conchords and the fans certainly would have watched them. But the Conchords themselves decided to stop making the show after only two seasons. You can hear some Conchord-y music in The Muppets, as Bret McKenzie wrote new songs for the film. TV series director James Bobin also directed the Muppets movie, and he assured fans that McKenzie and Jemaine Clement will return. Not on a series, but maybe a special or a movie or something.

“I’m sure,” Bobin said. “Jemaine, Bret and I are constantly in touch. We’re good friends. It’s just a quest...

Kym Johnson
Sexy Australian Dancing With The Stars pro Kym Johnson joined Kermit The Frog, Miss Piggy and the gang at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood for the premiere of The Muppets on Saturday.

We're not sure what Kym was thinking when she put on a see-through mesh shirt and paired it with leather pants & boots, but we think it might be just a little inappropriate for the premiere of a kids' movie.

Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal, Sweetums, Fozzie Bear, Rowlf the Dog and Gonzo along with the film's main stars Amy Adams, Jason Segel and Chris Cooper were all on hand for the big night.
