Rachel Weisz Wants Role In A Judd Apatow Movie

July 28th, 2010 10:51pm EDT
Rachel Weisz
Rachel Weisz fears she may have killed her chance to land a role in a Judd Apatow comedy - because the filmmaker hasn't called since she drunkenly confessed her "passion for him" at a Hollywood party.

"The Mummy" star admits she's a big fan of the "SuperBad" producer, and has been desperate to work on one of Apatow's films for years.

But she worries she went overboard when she professed her love for his work and is now convinced she's lost the opportunity to collaborate with him for good.

She says, "I worship Judd Apatow. I think he's extremely funny. His work is ground-breaking... I lov...

2010 Summer Movies Are Bad, But Past Years Have Been Worse (Video)

July 28th, 2010 11:15am EDT
As usual, the lineup for summer movies this year was star-studded and full of sequels. However, most of them have been critically panned and - even worse - they are not racking up ticket sales. Still, there have been far worse summer selections.

In an interesting pattern, it seems every 9 years there is a "stinker" summer movie slate. In 2001, our summer selections looked like this: A Knight's Tale, Pearl Harbor, Scary Movie 2, Planet of the Apes, The Mummy Returns, Swordfish, Dr. Dolittle 2, Rush Hour 2, Tomb Raider, Jurassic Park III, and Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Yikes!

Rachel Weisz Wants Botox Banned

February 25th, 2010 10:22pm EST
Rachel Weisz
Rachel Weisz is calling on movie bosses to ban Botox for actors, comparing the popular age-defying injections to illegal "steroids for sportsmen".

"The Mummy" star will turn 40 on Oscar night (March 7th) but she still refuses to follow the Hollywood trend.

And Weisz is appealing for her fellow stars to stop the cosmetic procedure and start accepting their real age and wrinkles if they want to give award-winning performances.

She tells Life & Style magazine, "It should be banned for actors as steroids are for sportsmen... Acting is all about expression."

Dwayne Johnson: Should He Go Back To Pro Wrestling?

January 21st, 2010 11:00am EST
Dwayne Johnson
In his upcoming film "Tooth Fairy," Dwayne Johnson plays an intimidating hockey player who is punished for his senseless behavior and transformed into a tooth fairy. That's right, a tooth fairy. This is a far cry from the old days when Dwayne Johnson played a wrestling character who was brash, cocky, and laid the smack down on any WWE wrestler that crossed his path. Johnson has gone from being "The Rock" to now wearing a tutu like Tinker Bell. This new movie role doesn't sit well with some fans who have been following Johnson since his WWE days. With his last two kid-friendly movies ("Race ...

Despite Jet Li's Would-Be Resurrection, 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' Still Flops

August 1st, 2008 9:26am EDT
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
(Hollywoodchicago) – The threequel that culminates with “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” is so hackneyed that the main star of the previous two films – Brendan Fraser – wasn’t even enough any more to sell audiences on a third return. Universal Studios needed to enlist co-star Jet Li to even stand a fighting chance and take the mood the Asian way.

Jet Li as the vicious emperor comes back to life in “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor,” which races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the spectacular Himalayas.

Her representative insisted the actress didn't feel comfortable spending five months shooting in China as her son Henry is not yet two years old. But the film's director C...
